  1. Best opening round game in NKY tonight at Cooper.

I have no idea who the aces are for each .

Boone is the 2 and Conner is the 3.

I think there will be a few great district games tonight.

St. Henry vs. Lloyd at Dixie

    Beechwood vs. HC at BW

All three should be good games.

  2. After seeing you at Barleycorns I must say, I pity the Mrs or was that your girlfriend that you were with?

The poor women couldn't wait until you shut up, so she could leave!

As usual the information you give is incorrect as the Tomlins were at the JV game and not at the Varsity game!

I think you have the wrong guy there TOG. I was nowhere near Barleycorn's. Plus, i don't have a clue as to who you are.

As far as the Tomlin's mother, it was a joke not to be taken seriously but I know Coop and others have your feathers ruffled b/c of your scorekeeping.

  3. If it makes you feel better he's white to me.

It doesnt matter to me one way or the other how you perceive him. It just shows your racial bias. I was just pointing out how the left wing media tends to throw race into it. Should have been reported,"... an American man got into an altercation with another American man and one was shot. Let's now do some research and see if it's murder or self defense." JMHO

  4. Think I was pretty clear that I said I didn't see the play, I took the word of a couple Ryle players that it was a hit. If you say it bounced out of his glove, so be it, not arguing. We actually call plays like that an error at Ryle as well. I am well aware that CCH is in a very special elite status that defines acceptable play at a much higher level than every other team in NKY. Thank you for reminding us.

As far as the dropped foul pop up, again, so what? Had absolutely zero impact on that at-bat and was, as I said, a very, very difficult catch looking straight into the sun. Again, I realize there are no exceptions/mitigations allowed for any defensive miscues by a Colonel defender, but this was a very tough play. Ask your first baseman.

Ultimately, however, your implied point in your first post that Ryle was only able to win this game because it was given away by CCH due to a plethora of errors is simply not accurate. In a game in which neither team was particularly impressive in the field, Ryle simply pitched a little better and hitter a little better and deserved the win.

Hey Coop, you know those would have been credited as hits if CCH was at bat!

  5. at Highland Park.

Birds built a lead (3-0). Beechwood rallied to tie it in the top of the 6th. Birds pushed across a run in the bottom of the 6th to take the lead and held on to win it.

Great effort by SO Joey Cochran on the bump. 5 shutout innings with only 2 walks and several Ks. As Coach Baioni has said, the defense plays well behind a pitcher throwing strikes.

SR Mitch Meyer with a couple of 2B bombs and JR Jakes Lester and Heck with big offensive contributions. Heck also threw out a runner at the plate from RF.

In the bottom of the 6th, SO Evan Allen starts the 2 out rally with a single up the middle. Steals second. Scores on a single by FR Luke Hennigan, beating the throw to the plate.

Birds play St. Henry tonight at Highland Park and it is Senior Night. Festivities start a little after 4:00 PM with the 1st pitch at 5:00 PM.

Also, Fan / Community Appreciation Day is MON, May 14th at Highland Park against Dayton. Same schedule with festivities at 4:00 PM and 1st pitch at 5:00 PM.

Come on out for both games!!!

Try E6th. First baseman blocks ball and throws home late. If your giving hits on that, I have to question all your averages!

  6. Ben Maile goes to 8-0 on the season, with a 0.93 ERA!

Coupled with his 9-1 & 2.46 ERA record last year, it puzzles the heck out of me, that Ben isn't getting more looks from D1 Schools. What in the world are you colleges coaches looking for! :idunno:

He doesn't throw hard enough i guess. No great off speed either. He is crafty with placement and changing speeds on his fastball.

  7. I was extremely disappointed in the bantering and name calling from the CCH kids (fans) at the game. I guess that is something that is tolerated by the parents of parochial kids. Don't know why. Some CCH parents seemed to think it was funny. I'm sure glad I'm not part of that!

As for the game, CCH is definitely the team to beat in the 9th. I said it before the season in another thread and I'm saying it again here....they will win the 9th this year! And OLD GUY, get your prescription checked.....Lankheit was a good ten feet from the backstop....although it still was a good catch, heck anytime a catcher catches a foul ball it's a good catch!
