  1. My son attended the winter camps at Champions for two years and Kevin Clary did an oustanding job helping the players. He can be demanding from them and I believe he does it with the right approach. I know my son would play for him any day. Congrats Coach Clary!
  2. Not sure about the coaching experience. I heard he was married to a teacher at McGuffey Sixth Grade Center. Anyone know anything about him?
  3. Kalen Gibson was hired as the head coach. Gibson pitched for UK from 2003-2005 and transferred to Murray State in 2006.
  4. The AD made a decision last week and he's going to make an announcement somtime later this week. They have to wait for the Site Based Council to meet and approve the hire (I guess). I agree with the previous posts that it is utterly ridiculous that it has taken this long for the administration at Lincoln to hire a coach. I feel bad for the kids, since this pretty much eliminates the possibility of them playing any type of organized fall baseball this year. Some of the players are having to go to Danville in order to play this fall. Pretty sad.
  5. Mercer is probably the #1 threat. With nine seniors on their squad, and a wealth of pitching, they are going to go pretty far and be tough to beat.
  6. Brandon Weir pitched a 3-hitter, allowing one run in the 1st inning and then pitching 6 shutout inniings as Lincoln pounded out 13 hits to complete the sweep of Pulaski on the year. Weir threw 10 K's and allowed only 2 walks. What an awesome field they have at Pulaski. Props to them on the hard work they put into making this one of the best fields in the state!
  7. Brandon Weir (Soph) from Lincoln County pitched a no-no against Pendleton County.
  8. Which freshmen and sophomores have pitched no hitters in varsity games this year?
  9. Noah Keeton throws a 2-hitter for Lincoln. Props to Whitley County on their facility. Absolutely beautiful field, they have obviously put a lot of hard work into it and it shows.
  10. Lincoln County has a good web site. http://www.leaguelineup.com/lcbaseball
  11. Trey Edwards (Junior) from Lincoln County has 6 so far this year.
  12. Linocln jumped out to a 4-2 lead in the first and held on to win 6-5. Trey Edwards (Junior) hit his 6th homerun of the season going 3 for 3 in the game with a single and a double - intentionally walked in his 4th AB - no chance to hit for the cycle.
  13. The two that were hit were straight at the 2B and SS, both of which were ruled as errors on the infielders. Each of them rolled under their gloves and should have been easy routine outs.
  14. Final score in 5 innings. Lincoln came out hot in this game scoring 11 runs on 10 hits (5 doubles) in the first inning. We're finally starting to see what was expected of this talented group of kids. Great job Lincoln!
  15. Final score in 6 innings. Brandon Weir (Soph) pitched a no-hitter in this game and walked only 1. Lincoln had 3 different people hit homers in this game: Trey Edwards, Devon Denson and Johnny Robles.
  16. Lincoln is just now getting all of their basketball players back and they should be settling into their lineup. A lot of good hitters and a deepening pitching staff that should bode well for them down the stretch. Look for Lincoln to start making some noise in the 12th. They play Danville tonight and Boyle again on Thursday. This week will be a good indication of what to expect in the weeks to come.
  17. Brandon Weir from Lincoln County has already had an impressive start to the season. In his first week, he's hit two homeruns, and two doubles. In his first varsity start of the season, he threw a 1-hit 6 inning shutout against Casey County where he struck out 14 batters. In his next start against Nelson County, he struck out 6. I think his batting average after the first week is around .550. One to watch out for.
  18. I hear that the Weir kid is only a 15 year old and he's already hit two homers in the first week, along with throwing the 1-hit shutout at Casey County. He threw 14 K's in that game and another 6 K's against Nelson County over the weekend. Looks like this kid will be one to watch for.
