Let me give you the other side of the story. Yes this was just a final tune up for both teams.
Pendleton did not start possibly two starters due to missing a practice over the holiday break.
There was a meeting beginning of the 3rd quarter at the scorers table that the JV would play at the halfway mark of the quarter. Both teams put their JV players in with Gallatin up 12 at 3:56 mark to be exact. Pendleton's JV cut the lead to 2 to start the 4th quarter and coach Jones decided he had enough of the JV and wanted to put the varsity back in.
I think the uptempo got to GC because the shots they were making suddenly came up short and they missed several free throws.
morgen and Monroe are both fine players and kind of cancelled each other out. PC had very balanced scoring and Monroe probably led them with 13 points. Monroe put the game away in the 4th quarter with attacking the rim and makin free throws.
THe PC faithful can rest assured that there are other players on this team that can score points. Also Monroe played off the ball for most of the game if not all of it. Not sure about the comment of Monroe being a non factor when his team had balanced scoring and he had 13 points, 4 steals, multiple assist and 5 boards. I would say that is being a factor and his team won.
good Luck to both teams this season.
