  3. What an amazing kid. My son started with US Kids when he was 6, at Gibson Bay in Richmond. I think he was shooting in the High 40's Low 50's for nine (tee's are moved up forward of the reds). He's 12 now and is regularly shoots under par from the reds. I am just trying to imagine how good this kid from Winchester can be... Thanks for the article. :thumb:
  4. I stay confused, it helps me get through the day. Yes, I was looking for a young man from Kentucky.
  5. I couldn't find his name on uskidsgolf.com, could it be the regional qualifier that he won? The highest ranking Kentuckian that I found was in the 6 and under division, Preston Jensen from Winchester, Kentucky tied #7 in the World Champs last year.
  6. From my experience (sales), Japanese made LCD's are more reliable than Chinese. Although the Chinese manufactured sets will be less expensive. I prefer Toshiba (except the av series which is Chinese), Sharp, Sony in LCD's. Pioneer and Panasonic in Plasma.
  7. Just a note to everyone, junior golf is currently underway. Check out Pepsi at kjga.com and Musselman Dunn at kjgf.com. If you get a chance, (and one is in your area) you should definitely check it out. The junior golfers in Kentucky (both male and female), can match up with golfers anywhere.
  8. My son enjoyed baseball, but with the Pepsi Tour spring series starting in March and multiple events in the summer (plus practice time) we just couldn't make it work.
  9. Just wondering what sports (if any) that your high school golfer plays when the season ends. Basketball seems to be the only one we have time for that doesn't interfere with golf.
  10. I used to love to stay up and watch Don Kirshner's Rock Concert. I recently saw an infomercial on Midnight Special, another one I used to stay up for.
  11. I won a cruise once. Traded up for a Disney cruise on the Magic. So it ended up costing me quite a bit more than I won.
  12. I took my 7 and 11 yr old boys today and had a great time. Got Free T-shirts, and got to sit in section 130 about 3 rows up. I thought there were 6-8 thousand but I'm not good at estimating. Most impressive: Alfonso Smith. Very strong and fast. Hartline and Pulley battle was a draw from my view. Lyons made some great snags for scores also. But there were several dropped balls, and either overthrows or receivers running wrong routes or in the wrong area. A couple of center to QB mishandles also. Wesley Woodyard is such a fine young man. I watched a young mother and child in front of me call out (he was standing on the sidelines) to him for an autograph (which he did with a smile), then he proceeded to sign at least 30 to 40 more until all the kids that wanted one got one. Same thing with Billy G. He came from the east end zone with Harris and Stephenson and I think Harrelson, down the wall signing autographs, smiling and talking to fans. I bet he signed and spoke to every kid down that wall. Really genuine. He seemed to love the kids.
  13. I think with the addition of Montgomery and Danis to the 12th, this will be a lot of fun to watch. Sounds like any one of the three mentioned should challenge for the top golfer in the region. I hope they all work hard this summer, it will be competitive.
  14. I have heard of Flannery, but neither(Flannery or Dagon) kid is ranked on the National Junior Golf Scoreboard (njgs.com) for Kentucky. Have they just not played enough of those types of events? That being said Danis is ranked 9th in the state for class of 2009. Not trying to say the others are not the best in the region, just don't have any scores posted on one of the tools for evaluating high school golfers.
  15. You are correct about Sam Walton. I just wanted to add that because mom and pop are 20-30 cents higher they may not be gouging, they may actually be making less than Wal-Mart. Just not big enough to buy it at the same price.
  16. I don't think the mom and pop's gouge as much as Wal-Mart negotiates with the manufacturer (or simply finds a cheaper look alike product from China when available) because of the number of stores they operate. I would think Wal-Mart actually has a higher gross margin than the mom and pop (which is why the Walton's are on Forbes and mom and pops are not).
  17. If you have an antenna and ATSC tuner (hd) it is on 27-2 the CW-kyt.
  18. I rechecked with my son, the 4th last year was Montgomery (along with Lex Catholic, Lex Christian ,Dunbar, Scott, Woodford, Clark, Franklin, Frankfort, Henry Clay, Bryan Station, Bourbon, Paris, Sayre, Shelby, Tates Creek, Western Hills, Harrison, Henry Co., Lafayette One tough Region.
  19. Voting every day for Elliot & Lofton. Elliot's easy to vote for in blue, but you Gotta love Lofton (even in orange).
  20. My money is on Paul Dunbar. They only lose the one older Bishop. I watched them several times last year, Coached by Brad Bachand (Man o War). I am glad we moved out of this region(Montgomery 4th to the 12th) it is stacked with talent.
  21. Congrats to Franklin-Simpson, sounded like shots were not falling for Lady Indians tonight.
