I believe South's biggest fear at the moment isnt the Redhounds. I believe all they are seeing as of now are the Colonels.

I agree...Butcher was a huge spark...Mikey Storms was back to his old self with a big game along with Jake..Middlesboro has a nice looking team too so it was a good win for the Colonels. With everyone getting healthy Whitley could make some noise! -

D Butcher, He is just a sophmore and he gets better every game. He is a really good on ball defender and has stepped up his jump shot and can be deadly from long range. D has come along to help the colonels tremendously and will be a huge asset to the program as he gets older. -

That's two tough losses in a row for the colonels with the redhounds coming up tommorow. They have faced the most challenging schedule of anyone ive seen in the 13th. They need to get back on the winning side, for they are much better than their record shows. -

Story on Williamsburg basketball

Yes I agree, long walk from the parking lot at Whitley! The Civic Center would be great!!! Just no parking at Williamsburg! -
Talked to a few of the players about him. Said he is a very nice guy and approaches them as a friend. Very intelligent about the game, and the players love him. He may be a big part of building the program at Whitley. I believe Chris Baker has done a great job with the kids and will be there for a while! Go Colonels!!

Hey Black Jack...you forgot to mention Mike Storms for Whitley County. He has been tearing it up lately....has numerous double doubles and is still growing...up to 6' 5" now. Can play inside out too. Good player! -

Whitley came out flat. Williamsburg wasn't missing anything. Taylor and Cunningham both had big games and made some long shots to get the colonels down early. At the start of the fourth the colonels were down by 4. They played well to catch up and tie the game to go into overtime. Whitley pulled out to a 4 point lead with a couple missed shots by the jackets and they pulled away with a couple free throws and a final layup to win by 7. Big win for the colonels! -

Hopefully the scoreboard problem will be fixed in the next two years as the Colonels will be renovating their current staduim to add turf, more seating, concession facilities, more seating and a new scoreboard. Mike Campbell, does a great job as AD, and he loves the football team. He is a coach at heart and loves to see the kids have the success that they have had this season. After consecutive 2 wins seasons, the school, and the community really got behind this team. The senior class has persevered and has been leaders. It was great to see the spirit tunnel, but the best part was the lobby of the school decorated with posters and painted in all Black and Red. Highlands sets a high standard for all the football teams in Kentucky, and Whitley's Senior class has set a high standard for future colonel teams. I look forward to next August when the Colonels once again return to the field. To Highlands players: Good Luck at Papa Johns!!!! To the Whitley Players: What a great season you had, never forget what it means to be a Colonel. Each one of you made our school proud!!! You never gave up and never gave in.
