Why is Valley not scoring any more points against a team like Betsy Layne? Is Justice not playing well yet, getting back from his injury?
IMO, it has alot to do with Justice and also that SV gets everybody's best shot in the 15th, and unfortunately SV just doesn't seem to bring much intensity within the region.

Cart before the horse here. If Maddox is back, maybe. Probably Carroll or Owen County.
As I said.... "Using Dave Cantrall's ratings from 1/4 here is how the State All "A" could play out"

King James--Not so sure. Some of their losses were with Justice out. Kind of like EC not having Ethan Faulkner. Before Justice went down they looked on top of their game beating Henry Clay by a large margin, Walton, GA by 20 something points, and thrashing Ashland by 53 points. My understanding is that he will be back at full throttle next week when the All A regional's start.
When you have a terrific point guard and he is out that changes your team dramatically.
Elisha is back playing and has been for the past 5 games, but is not near 100%. I doubt very seriously that he will be 100% by the All A. Without him at full strenght they are a totally different team.

Saturday's second SF could be a Elliott-Shelby Valley matchup.
The way Shelby Valley is playing right now Elliott would win by a landslide...

Final from the first round...

Pitiful performance by Pikeville. Bart Williams doesn't have the program in very good shape right now...
-
This is Phelps first loss of the season. They fall to 8-1, but their schedule has been extremely weak...
-
Did the PG for Shelby Valley play ? I know he had a shoulder injury..
He played a little and took another fall. He shot one left handed hook shot. The shoulder must still be bothering him quite a bit because he usually played 30+ minutes in big games. If he is unable to contribute much, they will stand very little chance of doing well. The other players are capable, but are playing out of position.

Corbin should win over South Floyd if the Redhounds play good team ball.
Team ball isn't needed to beat South Floyd... they are terrible. Corbin should win by >30.

I am from Florida and wondering what poll AH is #17 in the nation on. They have a good team, but there are quite a few teams in Florida who are better so I am a little surprised to read that.
I posted the link where I got that info, but it was removed...

Final from the Great Florida Shootout... Shelby Valley moves on to face the #17 team in the nation (American Heritage) with the #7 player in the nation (Kenny Boynton, Florida signee)... That game is tomorrow @ 8:30.
-
They play the host school tonight...
-
Shelby Valley played in this tournament last year and it had some very tough competition. They faced Sylven Landesberg who is averaging around 19 PPG for the University of Virginia this year as a freshman... Very nice tournament... and they use a shot clock.
-
Final. Shelby Valley is still without PG Elisha Justice.
-
Tough break for the young man. He is a very good player.
How long is he supposed to be out?
Either way this is still a solid win for KCC. SV has some nice role players with the Adams kid and Hatfield.
I was told that he is going to sit out for a week and see how things go. This is a VERY different Shelby Valley team without him on the floor.
The other kids are role players and nobody really stepped up. They will have to play a couple more tough games the next two days without him, and possibly the tournament in Florida. SV will struggle until he returns.
-
Justice injured his shoulder (possible tear) in the 1st game of the tourney.
-
Shelby Valley without PG Elisha Justice falls to KCC in the Hoopin' it Up Classic.
-
Final from the Hoopin' it up Classic...

I expected Corbin to win this game. I guess we'll see how they rebound in the consolation bracket...

Final from the Hoopin' it up Classic at NL/SL...

Mother Nature is the reason the games were canceled. The Shelby Valley game is when Eastern Ky was hammered with 5-6 inches of snow.
That's not correct. Eastern Kentucky was fine. It was reported that Fayette County prohibited any bus travel on the day of the game... There were various other mountain games played on that day.
