So, does this mean East Ridge is done? Pike County Central should move into the semifinals against Shelby Valley. Then if they lose they go to the consolation game. If they lose there, it's play-in time. Is all of this correct? Stupid? Both?!
Yes, East Ridge is done. Correct on all accounts... even the stupid part.

Final from the 15th. This was a battle between two of the weaker teams in the region, but I'm sure Wireman will still be excited about it...
-
Upset #2 from the 15th region tonight. Pikeville had defeated Belfry 1 month and 1 day ago at Belfry by a score of 74-38. Belfry picks up their 9th win of the season.

Upset from the 15th Region. Pike County Central moves to 8-20, while East Ridge drops to 14-12

Perry shot the ball well and did a good job of controlling the tempo for most of the game. Not turning the ball over against SV is a key to playing them. Perry limited SV's transition buckets, but SV was too much in the end. Elisha hit some big shots in the 3rd and 4th, and SV hit some FT's down the stretch to put it away... This should be a good game for both teams heading into the postseason.

Elisha Justice led the way for SV with 29 points...

I think on any given night KCC, PCC, or Hazard is capable of beating the other. However, Hazard has been more battle tested over the last couple of years than the other two. I see Hazard making the trip back to Rupp...

Unfortunately even the 3 team district setup was better than the garbage we have now. I agree with Rick Bentley's (Pikeville College SID) thoughts about the current setup. It has already been decided that this will be the last year for the SuperDistrict setup. If it was being done as a test, which is what we have been told, then why was the idea trashed for next year before we see how it works out. If we already know it is a dumb idea then why was it implemented in the first place...
-
We had a six-team district in the 52nd until this year, but it didn't get to send three teams to the regional and be a Super District.
In the past the 59th (3 team district) and the 60th (3 team district) each sent two teams to the regional tournament, for a total of four teams. Now, as a combined district, they are sending 3 teams with the possibility of a 4th. The other districts in the 15th aren't happy with this setup, but it actually works out in favor of the 57th over the previous setup.

Yes, they are combined into a superdistrict. Three teams from the 59th will make the 15th Region tournament, with the possibility of a 4th with a play-in game. It's a totally ridiculous setup...

Final. Ashley Hatfield led the way with 28. Elisha Justice added 24 points, 8 assists, 7 rebounds, and 7 steals.

a loss to Shelby Valley that should've been a win.
Based on what?

That's pretty impressive. I'd be interested in knowing how many top 25 teams that SV has beat during that span at home. Regarless, 55 straight at home is an impressive streak.
I'm not sure about ranked teams, but the last loss was an 81-86 defeat to Lexington Catholic.

Could it be a Pike County native who coached a team in the Sweet 16 last season?
Randy McCoy? If that's who you are talking about that move would surprise me...

He needs alot of work. He is very raw. But he does have one thing you can't teach, HEIGHT. I would not rank him in the top 10 middle school players in the 15th region. But looks like he is trying to get better
I don't know where he ranks in the 15th region, but he is top 3 in Pike County definitely. Averaging 20 points, 10+ rebounds, and 7+ blocks is pretty impressive. He had 13 triple doubles this season in 30+ games against 8th graders. He is a little raw, but works very hard and has improved wonders from last season when he averaged 4+ points per game.

Final.
Deven Adams led the Wildcats with 20 points.
Elisha Justice had 16 points, 10 assists, and 5 steals.
Ashley Hatfield had 11 points and 4 assists.
Raceland had 30+ turnovers.
SV improves to 23-4 on the season.

Nice win for SV. Unofficially SV only had 3 turnovers for the entire game. Scoring was pretty balanced for SV:
Elisha Justice 21
Ashley Hatfield 15
Taylor Newsome 9
Deven Adams 8
Tyler Newsome 8
Curby Tackett 7
Cody Varney 5
Dillon Tackett 2

Elisha Justice led the way with 35...

Nice win for Elliott. They took control late in the first half and never let go.
-
Mason has had a really tough time of staying in front of the Faulkners, which has led to some 3's for Elliott.
-
Tough foul call against Pawsat
-
Maybe the dagger by Ferguson.
-
How strong did you expect them to be?
I didn't expect them to all be hesitant to put the ball on the floor.
-
Mason is not as strong on the dribble as I expected them to be...

The two semi-final losers from the 57th do play a consolation game where the winner will make it to the play-in game against the 59th/60th consolation game loser... Sounds wrong but that's how it is...
