Sorry! The fact is, against an average Louisville team he was held completely in check. I would assume he played better against the lesser quality teams in the earlier rounds to earn the MVP.
No disrespect to the kid, he is an excelllent player but IMO he's just NOT on the same level as Sewell, R. Johnson, and C. Jackson when you are talking about Mr. Basketball!
I agree that Justice did not have a great game today. If you are basing your opinion on what he did today, then no he didn't put up Mr. Basketball numbers. But I can assure you he has played much better games against much better teams than DeSales...

I think Justice did not show nearrly enough to be considered a candidiate for Mr. Basketball! Desales point guard kept him in check most of the day illustrating what has been stated by many other posters. He would not have near the success he's having against the athletes in the top regions in the state.
Yeah, he only won the MVP.... for the second straight year. Justice handles the ball 90% of the time for SV and I'm sure he may have been a little tired today. He was 1 of 8 from the field, with most of those misses coming on drives to the hoop and alot of that could be fatigue. He got around his defender most any time, but found his teammates for open shots. He had five assists for the game, and the Newsome's carried the offensive load in the 1st half. If you are looking for negatives you can find them, but the fact is that he came away with another MVP and All A state title...

Shelby Valley led by 30 at the end of the 3rd. The bench saw most of the action in the 4th. Elisha Justice led the way with a triple double of 23 points, 10 assists, and 10 steals. Here is a little mention of it from Anthony Wireman...

Final from the semifinals of the WYMT Mountain Classic at Knott County. SV dominated the game after the 1st quarter, leading by as many as 25 early in the 4th. They move on to face Knott County in the championship tomorrow night.

Here we go. Slone, even at 5'8" was pretty much all they had and took every other shot. Yes though, he was a solid player.
If Justice was in the 7th, it would be a much different look on his numbers.
Big players step up in big games. The best part about Justice is that he almost always rises to the challenge. He doesn't just rack up stats on the gimme games. You guys can criticize him all you want, but the fact is that he is a player and would do very well in any region in the state.
