1st round of interviews are over, some will be called back for a second interview. There is a committee of principal, staff, parents, and players but the principal will pick the coach

One was a former head coach in Covington that went to Richmond to coach, one is a middle school coach who wears "championship" rings (he’s been telling people since September he was the next coach:rolleyes:), ones a small college defensive coordinator, and the rest are current assistances in NKY Not that I'm naming any names:sssh:

Applicants reduced last week to about 6 who will be interviewed sometime this week

just wonder if 20 really applied or just showed interest. The last time the job came open 15 people sent resumes/letters of inquire but only a handful truely applied.

I just thought there was something special with that date. guess not. Agreed the sooner the better but if the past is any indication it will take longer than the 15th to get a new coach on board.:banana:

Great athletes? many good ones not many great. Again it comes down to who wants to work to get better. Not many want to put in the time nor effort to becaome great:confused:

Well let's see............ Coach Ray was there forever Coach R was there a very years Coach Brossart was there well one year How else would you compare them? Wins?State Champs? Tenure? Guess it would be .... 1. Ray 2. Rodenburg 3. Brossart Pretty much in that order for all three:D

Maybe someone should look into creating a "seperate" playoff system for these teams so other schools could win a ring:lol: We'll call it the Haves and haves not system.

to be honest I don't remember the last time there was more than two coaches in the building. Most years there is only one(the head coach)

there was only two coaches that were on staff and I don't think either of them are leaving

agreed but let's deal with the present day reality and the task ahead for the new coach to overcome. Dixie's facilities are a factor to draw kids away from the other two schools

Plus with open enrollment in Kenton County schools to be able to bring kids to Scott with it's facilities when you compare it to its sister school Dixie and its facilities. Multi million dollar field turf field, stands, track, locker room, ECT Verus a 30 year old facility with who knows what festering in the weight room/locker room. Hard to woo kids to Scott when they see Dixie’s place. Then you have Holmes with what it has coming back. Meaning the district will be difficult to win in and make the playoffs. Lots of issues on and off the field to over come.

from what I hear about 40 but there was some confusion on who was there for "football" weights or other sports

that was 27 years ago....... not a good "stepping stone" job

This position more times than not have been a career killer. Look back on the last half dozen coaches - ZERO- have gone on to be head coaches elsewhere with only one that I know of still coaching. He should apply if he's up to the battle.

looks like there will be a committe made up of parents, principal, and another coach in building but the Principal will make the decission. Means the committee is only for show.

Cleaned house for the last two head coaches. Each only lasted 3 seasons :confused: That didn't work real well

I don't think Kenton Co. pays $90,000 for a football coach:sssh:

none of the Varsity coaches will be back (which is to bad). Doubt any of the Freshman coaches will return even though one is currently doing weights, I don't think the Principal will hire from within for the next coach
