  1. It would really save some debunking time if those who are going to level unfounded allegations against Palin would please post the portion of the article cited (when so much as a link is provided), which they believe supports their accusation. Exactly what did Palin say to indicate that she believes Iraq was responsible for the 9/11 attacks?
  2. Sure they do. Here is another "obscure" reference from a magazine that I am sure nobody has heard of: Is Obama still running this classless ad or has his campaign returned to damage control duty?
  3. So, are Obama supporters going to argue that McCain's POW injuries are not severe enough to excuse him from typing? I certainly hope so! Here are two 8-year old articles that address this issue.
  4. I guess it depends on one's perspective. IMO, the BBC is one of the most liberal sources of news in existence this side of MSNBC. C-SPAN is not nearly as objective as it was in its earlier years. C-SPAN has always had a relatively conservative audience. I think that the network tipped its hand when it decided a few years ago to go to Democrat, Republican, and Independent phone numbers for its call-in shows. Instead of phone calls fairly reflecting the views of its audience, it became much easier for liberal callers to get on the air than conservative callers.
  5. Many prominent Democrats disagree and they have begun to point out that the media bias for Obama is backfiring. Hillary Clinton and many of her supporters are on record saying that Fox News was more fair in its coverage of her campaign than NBC and MSNBC.
  6. Link? Please feel free to cite proof from the Huffington Post, Daily Kos, MoveOn.org, Democratic Underground, or any of the Soros-funded web sites.
  7. I agree. Edwards was and remains less experienced than Palin in nearly every area other than experience in the legal system. Sarah Palin has spent more time as an elected official than Edwards had. Edwards had been little known outside of North Carolina before the 2004 campaign and there was nothing in his background to suggest that he had any competence in the foreign policy arena. No, when Edwards was named to Kerry's ticket, most Republicans were not aware of Edwards' positions on the issues because they did not follow the Democratic primaries closely. Did Gibson not have an obligation to inform those of us who were not Democratic primary voters? The Gibson interview went beyond tough questioning. ABC's selective editing of the transcript was clearly aimed at making Palin look weaker on foreign policy than she is. I am not complaining about the Gibson interview. I believe that it just reinforces the public's view that most of the media are actively working to elect their candidate, Barack Obama, even if they must resort to distorting the news to achieve their goal. In addition, the McCain campaign can point to this interview to deflect any future criticism as Palin submits to interviews that will allow Americans to get to know her positions in a fair and balanced way.
  8. Technically, the beatings were delivered by his North Vietnamese captors (he was shot down over North Vietnam) - but the injuries that he sustained following his capture are the reason that he does not use a keyboard to send email messages. Of course, Obama apologists may point to Steven Hawking's use of a computer despite his debilitating disease and accuse McCain of being a pansy. It will be interesting to see if the McCain campaign responds to the Obama ad directly or just let the objective members of the media report Obama's insensitive blunder.
  9. The comparison is entirely valid. Edwards was a vice-presidential nominee with less experience than Sarah Palin and the interviewer was the same. Why is that not a fair comparison?
  10. Yes, the interview was an attempt to steal some of McCain's thunder. It also followed a meeting that Obama had with Rupert Murdock and Roger Ailles at which he whined about Fox News coverage of him. Americans do not want a whining woe-is-me liberal victim as a president and the more Obama whines the further he will sink in the polls. The real question in this campaign may soon become whether Obama can carry the solid blue states like California and Massachusetts.
  11. Nothing Palin is likely to say in an interview is likely to be as idiotic as Obama's initial statement on Russia's invasion of Georgia and Obama made that statement with the full benefit of hundreds of campaign advisors. When it comes to Obama's foreign policy expertise, his executive experience, and his judgment, you can put lipstick on a pig but it is still a pig.
  12. Obama boycotted Fox News for months, preferring the friendly confines of the liberal media and friendly interviewers at BET, MSNBC, and others sympathetic to his campaign. This is a guy who refused to participate in a Fox News debate that would have been moderated by Chris Wallace because of alleged bias but eagerly participated in a debate hosted by the nutjobs at the Daily Kos. The idea that Obama has been thoroughly vetted by the media is, in Bill Clinton's words, a "fairy tale." After pandering to the Kos crowd Obama expects moderates and independents to vote for him?
  13. You did not answer my questions. As for poor strategy, is that a rhetorical question? I mean, Obama's campaign has the makings of a textbook on what not to do in a presidential campaign. In contrast, I have decided to stop questioning McCain's strategy which has been nothing short of brilliant to this point. I suspect that McCain will hold onto Obama's defense of infanticide and his lying about his votes on the issue as a trump to be played later. While Obama's paid goons and media volunteers are scouring the Alaskan countryside looking for dirt on Palin, McCain is sitting on a treasure trove of potentially devastating opposition research on Obama. The way the the campaign is going, McCain may never need to play his trump cards. Obama is doing a pretty good job of destroying his chances all on his own. If you do not remember Obama raising the specter of the race card, then you just have not been paying attention. He has repeatedly warned the electorate that McCain would by trying to scare voters into not voting for him because he does not look like the presidents on the currency, because he has a funny name, etc.
  14. I never said that McCain gave a dollar figure. I said that Obama quoted him out of context and ran a dishonest ad. I have substantiated that claim. What was the dollar figure that Obama gave? Never said you did. What you said was: When did the Brittany/Paris ad run? Were Obama fans not fainting at The One's feet when he was delivering platitudes to large adoring audiences? Were the young ladies fainting because they were overcome with the brilliance of his oratory? Was it the heat? If so, why did young ladies not faint at McCain's rallies? If it was celebrity, then what was wrong with the ad? Was he not a celebrity? Has Obama not warned people for months that McCain would play the race card despite the fact that it had not been played?
  15. My thoughts exactly. Both Hannity and Colmes generally serve up softball questions and let the interviewees answer the questions. Colmes interviews Democrats and liberals and Hannity draws conservatives and liberals. I am sure that both Palin and Biden will be interviewed by O'Reilly before the election and those interviews are the ones worthy of comparison.
  16. You are still missing the point. Had the Republicans voted unanimously in favor of the drilling, they still were well short of the 60 votes necessary to get the bill to the floor for a vote. One party cannot push a bill through the Senate over the objections of the other members under current rules. (IMO, the Republicans should have scrapped that rule but McCain and the Gang of 14 eliminated that threat.)
  17. I believe that one of the main reasons that McCain picked Palin as his running mate is because of her energy expertise. Palin strongly believes in allowing drilling on 2,000 acres in ANWR. If McCain does not flip on this issue, it will undermine her status as the energy expert on the ticket.
  18. Gas prices are not going to drop much until after the peak of the hurricane season passes.
  19. I believe that the House did pass a bill to allow ANWR drilling but Republicans in the Senate could not clear the 60-vote threshold on the cloture vote. The White House has consistently favored opening more federal areas to drilling and Democrats have blocked the legislation consistently. The overwhelming majority of Republicans in Congress have supported drilling but they have had almost no support from Congressional Democrats. I agree with you on McCain, his continuing failure to support drilling in ANWR continues to be one of my biggest issues with him, although I believe he will soon reverse his position.
  20. Yes, sadly this is typical. This guy is not somebody you plucked off the street - he is an elected Democratic member of the US House of Representatives who speaks for tens of thousands of Democrats in his district. You could also have quoted Donna Brazile, the prominent Democratic strategist who ran Al Gore's campaign: "Jesus was a community organizer, Pontius Pilate was a governor. And perhaps they should understand the role of a community organizer is to help people in distress." There, that makes two Democrats mouthing the same failed talking points. That is Demcrats plural - not counting Cohen's Democratic constituents.
  21. No problem. You are not ruffling my feathers. The link that I provided gave you access to all of the information you requested. If you don't want to click and read, then that's not my problem. As they say, you can lead a horse to water...
  22. Biden did not sound too confident yesterday as he acknowledged that he may not be the best person for the job. Maybe Palin will be debating Hillary instead.
  23. I will waste no more time with you on this issue. if I reading a linked document is too much effort, then you apparently are not interested in learning the truth about Obama's actions. I am sure that there will be a youtube version soon enough.
