  1. No it was not confusing and your accusation was very clear.
  2. The totally baseless smears that I see posted here are not directed against Barack Obama. In the few cases where some bogus internet smear against Obama (emails mostly) has been posted here, they have quickly been shot down with a link to a stie like snopes.com and the threads died quick deaths. I rarely post in forums other than BGP and I feel no obligation to surf the internet to correct the record everywhere I see Obama unfairly attacked. I only browse the most popular conservative web sites and I also periodically browse popular liberal web sites such as the Daily Kos, the Democratic Underground, and Huffington Post. I find far more unfounded rumors originating on those three popular websites than on the conservatives web sites that I frequent. It is hard for me to understand why anybody needs to believe Obama is a Muslim to oppose him. I accept the fact that he is a follower of the Black Liberation Theology and include his voluntary 20 year indoctrination at the hands of Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Jr., as a compelling reason for opposing his candidacy. If Obama's religion is something other than what he claims it is, then it really does not matter to me.
  3. Either point to a post where I have even implied that Obama is a Muslim or stop associating me with a position that I do not hold. I insist.
  4. Either document where I ever said that Obama is a Muslim or stop making false accusations.
  5. I would feel better about Obama if he was a moderate Muslim instead of a devoted follower of the Rev. Jeremiah Wright's brand of Black Liberation Theology, which IMO, is far worse.
  6. When somebody says "people like you," then yes, they are referring to "you" specifically.
  7. I have never claimed that he is a Muslim. Your accusation is false.
  8. After giving this question more thought, I would vote that the nation is much better off. I forgot the improvements that Bush has made to the US Supreme Court, which will continue to pay dividends for decades - especially if McCain wins in November.
  9. The economy was in recession in early 2001 and it is growing today. High fuel costs are responsible for many of the current problems in the economy and they can be lowered through a quick and firm commitment to drilling and nuclear power. Those actions will have an immediate impact on oil futures prices. That is the issue that will most likely allow McCain to win the Novemver election.
  10. If you can point our any of my posts that contain factually incorrect information about Obama, then I will gladly retract it. I am still waiting for a few liberals like you to acknowledge that Obama facilitiated infanticide while an Illinois State Senator and then lied about the content of the bill that he helped kill. The truth hurts and the truth, if given in the proper context is not a smear. If you are not bothered by Obama's shady mentors, associates, and friends, then vote for him. If you do not believe that the allegations that I have made are true, then challenge them on a factual basis. Just calling the truth a smear does not discredit it.
  11. I would say that the MSNBC VP, Phil Griffin, who vouched for the impartiality of Olbermann as an anchor is on the hot seat if he has not already been given his walking papers. Some heads need to roll at MSNBC if they want to restore some of their credibility.
  12. That's right. I am not a member of McCain's inner circle and neither are the people reporting speculation to the contrary.
  13. At age 72, McCain would become the oldest president ever elected. At age 76, he would break his own record. That seems like a pretty good foundation for my claim that McCain will not likely run for a second term. If he does, then Palin can wait until 2016 to make her run.
  14. I have as much evidence as those who claim that Palin was McCain's hail Mary pass. Based on her performance and the desperate smears against her, it looks like McCain knew very well what he was doing. Just wait until McCain flip-flops on ANWR drilling. Obama and Biden will gleefully ridicule McCain as a flip-flopper while they help him shift the focus of the campaign to the impact of high energy costs on the economy. That is where Palin's real value to this ticket lies. She will slice and dice Biden and Obama on the energy issue. I am hoping for a McCain/Palin field trip to the ANWR proposed drilling site in the next month. They can stand in the middle of the site and ask the media who brave the cold to pan the horizon and notice than they can see the entire 2,000 acre site from a single central vantage point. If they make the visit at night, they can have flares lit around the periphery of the site for added visual impact. I suggested months ago that McCain should pick Palin and make affordable energy his top campaign issue. The Palin pick was a no-brainer, IMO. Conclusive evidence will have to wait until McCain writes his memoirs.
  15. Extreme bias is a disqualifier. The decison does have to do with qualifications. MSNBC has become a joke of a network for its "experiment." I am glad that Brian Williams and the real reporters at NBC prevailed in their internal feud.
  16. Palin was not just a name down the list, she was always near the top. I think that Jindal was also near the top but his age and the flap over legislative raises probably did him in. Watching both Pawlenty and Palin speak last week, I honestly do not believe that Pawlenty was ever higher on McCain's list than Palin. People (not a reference to you) who believe that Palin was a desperation pick from left field who had not been carefully vetted by McCain are not being objective.
  17. Those of you who defend Keith Olbermann and Chris Matthews as fine, upstanding, highly qualified journalists might find this personnel decision tough to accept. I believe that the debate is over.
  18. I believe that Palin was near the top of McCain's list all along but I agree that if Obama had put Hillary on his ticket, McCain probably would have gone with somebody else. If McCain had picked Palin after Obama picked Hillary, then McCain would have looked like he was following Obama's lead by picking a woman. Obama's mistake of picking Biden made McCain's choice much easier.
  19. Palin is not going to claim to be more qualified than McCain, so as long as the other three candidates are debating among themselves, McCain benefits. This campaign is a team exercise and Palin is making McCain's decision look much better than Obama's selection of Biden. Obama picked a dull campaigner who finished well back in the pack in the primaries to avoid the risk of having Hillary outshine him on the campaign trail. McCain has the right mix of confidence and humility to share the limelight with Palin. McCain will not likely seek reelection if he wins. If his legacy is that he dragged the second coming of Ronald Reagan onto the national stage, I believe that he would die a happy man.
  20. :thumb: Allowing Obama to personally disparage Palin's record is a huge blunder on the part of his campaign. Having Obama, Biden, and Palin debating over who is the second best qualified to be president can only help McCain's chances.
  21. This was a funny gaffe whether you support Obama or not. Not quite as funny as the reporter who claimed that Obama was born to a black man from Kenya and a white man from Kansas, but still pretty funny.
  22. I watched This Week this morning. Obama forgot his lines and Steffy wasted no time in correcting him before he went any further. Obama will be in so much trouble if he is ever forced to be interviewed by a more competent and objective interviewer. George passed on the perfect opportunity to ask Obama to condemn the smears against Sarah Palin being fabricated and spread by the Daily Kos and Huffington Post. Obama has an incredibly tough time answering softball questions in a clear and concise manner. Obama also claimed to have considered a career in the military after graduating high school, something that he reportedly did not claim in either of his memoirs, and something that I find very difficult to believe.
  23. Palin will be interviewed by Charles Gibson on ABC News this week. While Obama's campaign was ridiculing Palin for not rushing to the nearest TV camera for an interview, the McCain campaign was already busy scheduling Palin's first interview since being nominated. Palin has been interviewed on national TV in the past and performed very well. I hope that Obama and Biden continue to try to lower expectations because they are going to look pretty stupid when people actually see how much better Palin is in an interview setting than either of them are.
  24. I am not blaming Obama for any deaths, except for the newborns who might have been saved had he supported legislation to bar hospitals from letting them die without medical treatment. The point is that despite the fact that the south side of Chicago has had the benefit of Barack Obama's wisdom and special brand of leadership and eloquence for many years, it remains an extremely dangerous place to live. Obama has made no difference there.
