I was at a wedding last night sitting with some folks from central and eastern KY. I heard one say something to the other about songs for the "daddy daughter dance" referring to the bride dancing with her father. I had never heard that term before as I've always heard it called the "father daughter dance."
Is that a regional term?
Isn’t that the same thing? Some people say daddy and some people say father. I have heard it both ways.

Tensing is still being investigated by the Feds for civil rights violations. That's what they convicted the SC cop last year I believe and received a 20 year sentence.

Ran across this about where some of the big money and crazy money bets. I’d copy some but it’s pretty long. A better placed a $20k moneyline bet in a 3 team (VA, Purdue and NC) in the first round to win a net of $800. That’s crazy.

I think I read AZ had the most money on them to win the tournament.
And I agree, the odds on the 16 seed to win the moneyline seem terrible.

Bengals signed Matt Barkley. If Mason Rudolph is there in the 3rd round I think I would take him.
Does he have the “it” factor?
-
The Bengals sign back up QB Matt Barkley. I sure hope he has the “it” factor.
-
Steelers have been trying to sign Tyrann Mathieu.
Didn’t happen. He went to Texans.
Has Steelers brought anyone in? They’ve been kind of quiet.

This team lost 83-39 against Albany. How?

All PEDs are banned substances, but not all banned substances are PEDs. He didnt test positive for street drugs. Potentially he could win. Additionally,
I read the test took place on 12/27. He was done by then.
He wasn’t listed as inactive with the Bengals until 12/30 though. I don’t see any way he wins an appeal even if it was prescribed for his injuries. Every player knows there are banned substances and they have a number to call to clear any medicine they take. I hope it wasn’t prescribed by the team doctor as that would be a huge mistake. My guess it came from his personal doctor and no one cleared it with the NFL.

I agree. This seems like a witch hunt. It wasn't for banned substances, it was for PEDs. IF you are out for the season and are prescribed steroids or something else, you should be ok. I wonder if he didn't release that to the NFL at the time of the prescription or something isn't being reported accurately by Burfict's camp.
Aren’t ped’s banned substances in the NFL? And he tested positive before he was out for season. And it doesn’t really matter because they are banned all year, not just during the season.
-
Burfict’s defense doesn’t hold water. There have been 51 positive tests in last 3 years for ped’s. One has been overturned for tainted meat in Mexico.

Takes up a roster spot on a player that cant play.
If he can’t play, wouldn’t that open up a roster spot?
-
Burfict’s argument is basically that he was on prescribed meds to recover from the concussion and shoulder injury he suffered. The failed test happened after he was already ruled out for the season. He may have a case.
Doesn’t any medicine have to be pre-cleared with the league. Doesn’t sound like much of a case.
-
He’s only played in just over 50% of the games in the last 4 years. This suspension also voids all the guaranteed money in his contract. If the Bengals want out, they can do it cheap now.
-
Per Adam Schefter, Burfict facing 4 game suspension for violation substance abuse policy for PED’s.

Lead the league in tackles last year. A great signing.
-
I think I ask for my $100k back if I was AZ. Obviously, contract was not good for postseason play.

I didn’t do a bracket this year, but I probably would have picked OK. I was thinking they don’t belong and everybody bad mouthing them, I thought their best player may get hot and prove everyone wrong and win a few games. I guess that’s why I didn’t pick a bracket.

10-1
After today, odds went to 8-1 and he is the favorite. That is crazy.
-
Those are crazy pics. How scary.
-
Good for him, going to a playoff team. The only place left where he has kind of chance to play. I’m interested to see how much he got.
-
And Joe Thomas has retired.

Who is this team? First they let Pac Man go, then they execute a trade that is a win-win. They have so many options now with the 21st pick. They could completely overhaul the entire line in one offseason and take another tackle or they could simply take the best player available now because they have already covered their top need. I’m loving the offseason so far.
I hope they take one of the top centers.
What Do You Call This Wedding Tradition?

Now that I think about it, I agree with dragonfire, I’ve always heard the actual dance at a wedding as a “father daughter dance.” I’ve seen actual events called “daddy daughter dances” and they tend to be for younger girls and their dad. NKU has hosted many daddy daughter dances at their student center for different organizations.
