  1. Is the Mr. Football only open to Sr. I think this question was asked in another thread is Mr. Football the best player in 2013 or the player with the best career. While I think Barker has had the best stats over his career was he the best player. Does he have the highest upside in college probably of those on the list. Bowling Green is powerhouse. Fant had unreal numbers this year. I hope he wins.
  2. I would say Brendon Johnson Holmes DT, Marcus Watson Cooper OT, DT.
  3. Great event. I especially liked the speech by the wife whose husband lost his leg after an injury on the field. She did a great job. Being involved with Football myself over the years it takes a lot of time away from the family. Sounds like her husband loves the game and the kids. Her husband has gone through a tremendous ordeal. I respect her will power to help support him in this difficult time. I would also like to say Thank You to Bill Matteoli. Four of the athletes recognized played for him their 7th and 8th grade years on the Boone County PeeWee football Bandits team. You did an excellent job preparing them for their high school careers. Also to Chuck Hendricks who was the first coach for two of the players.
  4. Will Ludwig Cooper HS Looking at Ohio Northern, Rose Holman, Wayne St, Case Western Reserve, Florida Institute of Technology and a couple of others I can't remember. Top priority is college that can offer excellent engineering degree.
  5. Great year Cory. You will do great in College. Keep up the hard work.
  6. Barker put up great stats but the one thing he never got was past the districts. I know football is not a one man sport but the rest of the people up for this award have either made it to regions or are very close. I would put the order Fant, Houliston, Kuntz. If Kuntz gets to State I would probably move him up to a close 1. In Key games I do not think Barker put up the numbers you expect out of a division 1 football prospect.
  7. If they used more than just the 3 or 4 games in the district to determine the champ I would agree it is watered down. The tie breaker in KY to determine seeding is a joke. What team is better a 5A team playing all 6A non conference games and only winning 50% or a 5A team playing 2A and 3A teams. Not that Ohio has everything perfect but I do like the fact the larger the school you play the more points you get for the win. Also all games count for seeding not just your district games. IE last year a 9-1 Cooper team gets ranked 3rd when 8-2 and 7-3 Conner and South Oldham get ranked higher. If you only took the top two seeds in the district last year they would have never made it to the playoffs or the State Finals and they had the best record.
  8. At one time I agreed with it might be time for Warner to go. He may not need to go but he and the administration probably need to sit down and talk about the direction the team is going. Does he need to rethink his assistant coaches. If he does not right the ship quickly the talent coming up may never make it to the varsity level. From the comments here and what I have heard on the streets the ship is sinking if major repairs are not made it could sink quickly. Ryle wants to be an elite team in the state of KY. They schedule a brutal schedule and while you hope that prepares your team it can have a reverse affect if you are getting your b2tts beat in those games.
  9. I see Conner winning Big also. Way and the rest of the receivers should be wide open. Big plays were open all night last Friday. Anderson has some great wide receivers themselves. QB is very competitive but short. If they can stay close to the receiver there will be opportunities for Conner to pick it off.
  10. Clean hit on Ludwig. Just a freak injury where his helmet hit the ground. He would have loved to have gotten stitched up and back in the game but when you can put your tongue through a hole in your lower lip not much you can do. Doctors at UK were great. Even though I did not see the last half glad too see the boys fought until the end. This is a class team. Even though they finished 3-8 this is not a bad team and things will continue to improve in the next couple of years.
  11. Ludwig will be fine. Has nice hole under his lip and a broken tooth. Will have a nice scar to remember his last game
  12. Also on the real question on this thread I have to go with Conner. I hope all of the NKY teams win. Being a Cooper fan I would love to see a Conner Cooper rematch. Best game would be if it was on Turf. Unfortunately neither of them have turf. Bad field conditions late in the fall could hurt Conner or any team playing on grass.
  13. From what I saw on the Internet Kunz was visiting Indiana St. and Grand Valley St. As mentioned in an article one of the biggest differences is that Barker has tried out for the elite camps which has put him ahead of the rest of the group out there. Not everyone even wants to go D1. Unless you are going to be a star at the next level the first priority for any kid needs to be the class room and getting a degree. Next statement which will probably irritate a lot of UK fans. If you really think you are an elite QB like everyone is claiming Barker and Kuntz to be then why would you even think of UK. In the state of Kentucky I would first go to Louisville then Cincy. Yes UK has had an occasional good football player but in no means have they ever been a football power. Last word Go Bucks. I give it up for Stephen Collier ex BCPWFL player and OSU recruit.
  14. I hope Cooper wins. This could be a very difficult game after last years game. Last year Cooper came out on fire on both sides of the ball. This year I have only seen that in one game and that was versus Conner. Cooper needs to come out fast with a lot of emotion. I would like to see the coaching staff take more chances. There have been at least 4 times this year in the first half the coaches have packed it in instead of taking a chance and trying to score.
  15. A good coach looks at his team each and every year and adjusts to the talent he has. You might have a base set of plays you run but you have to adjust to the talent you have. I have seen too many coaches at all levels say this is my offense and I am going to run it no matter what talent I have. Until three years ago Conner was not a spread them out and let the QB control the game. Cooper the last couple of years has always been a run first oriented team. This year they have a QB and receivers and very young TB so they are throwing the ball more. Highschool is not the pros and in some cases not the NFL. You do not get to pick the talent. You have to work with the skills you have.
