  1. One of the best games i have seen played by the Braves in quite sometime. Offensively the Braves could not be stopped and Campbell had nothing for them. Adkins 26, Hicks 23, Cummins 20. Very nice to see the Cummins boy back and playing.
  2. If Grant would have hit free throws it could have been a W. But thats the way the game goes, SK hit shots and executed when they needed to and earned a win. Referees made some questionable calls on both sides though. I expect both teams to be strong come district time.
  3. South Oldham by 14. Coach Simpson will have those boys ready even after an exhausting night against Collins on Tuesday.
  4. Of course its just who you are, because God made man to be with a woman and for a woman to be with a man. Therefore homosexuality is a choice, God did not create humans to live this way. The Bible clearly states that homosexuality is a sin and those who live in this sin will be judged for their actions by the Lord our God. But hear this, this sin is no greater than any other sin, everybody will be judged for their sinful actions as well. Does this mean we hate Homosexual people? Absolutely not! Hate is a sin in itself and we have no right to judge. Sin is sin no matter what it is, it is all equal. Jesus said That he will give us a new command and that is to "love one another just as i have loved you," (John 13:34) and to treat others as you would want to be treated.
  5. My personal opinion, comparing this years team to the 02-03 team is some what of an insult to the years of Jones and Plunkett. That is your opinion and i have nothing against you for stating that, but if you were around for the 02-03 team (maybe you were I dont know) then i would think that there would be a clear cut difference between the two teams. Not taking anything away at all from this years team, i believe they have had an outstanding season with one of the best records in Braves history. But Like CincySportsfan said the 02-03 team did indeed upset Scott County that year in the district semi-finals, and thats a pretty big accomplishment. I am a Grant County fan and have thoroughly enjoyed watching them this season, their defense has been incredible and their ability to score is tremendous, but i will say that there are a couple teams on their schedule that should have been replaced with schools such as Oldham County (who has had our number for a long time now) South Oldham, Anderson, and even Collins. Even though the possibility to losing to all 4 during the season is great, i think we might have seen a different outcome Monday night at Henry County. The Coaching staff and players for Grant are every bit as good as Oldham county. I look forward to seeing them play again next season, i expect Grant back in the Region as a number 1 seed and making some noise in the Region.
  6. Agreed, Anglin gets no respect. Any player that has played against him knows that he is an excellent defender, there is no player in the 8th region who looks forward to Anglin guarding them.
  7. Anglin's defense was a thorn in SK's side all night long! Not sure how many steals/deflections/tipped balls and points off turnovers he had but it seemed to be a regular occurrence throughout the game. Congratulations Grant!
  8. Great basketball player and from what i hear he is a fine young man as well. Congrats to him and his accomplishments. Im not sure his age or grade but best of luck to him in the rest of his career as well.
  9. Great win for the Braves! Tough win, Pendleton is a good team. Good luck to both teams come district time.
  10. Grant needs Hurley back in a hurry! He seems to be the leader on the floor when he is out there.
  11. This is definitely going to hurt the Braves losing two valuable players, but like sportsmaniac said who wouldn't struggle losing two starters. The Braves need their top 8 healthy come tournament time.
  12. Not at all. I hate seeing players injured at anytime in any situation. But it always just makes it that much worse when it could have been prevented if the officials would just make the correct calls early in the game to make sure it doesn't get out of hand late in the game. Again it was wrong of me to assume since i was not there that the player for Grant was injured on a play where there could have been a foul called. Next time i will get my facts straight before i go ranting and raving lol.
  13. Like i said i was not there but have only heard from numerous amount of people how the officiating was. So allow me to correct myself. The player was not hurt on a play where there should have been a foul called but rather less on a hustle play trying to get a lose ball. I too agree with some of the comments about being surprised that not more players got hurt because of the horrendous NON calls that weren't made. So sorry about the comment, i was speaking out of frustration due to the fact i have seen it all to often where a player or two is injured in a game because the officials let it get out of hand. And this could have been one of those instances.
  14. Its very sad and frustrating to hear that a player gets hurt because of bad officiating. I was not at the game, but i hear that it was some of the worst officiating people have seen. i heard neither Bracken nor Grant got any good calls and that the referees were bad on both sides. But i guess to an official as long as your consistent that means something. I do not know much about Bracken County's ball club so i cant speak on their behalf, but i know a little about Grant County's team this year. It will be a shame if number #3 for Grant is out for the rest of the season considering they have a real nice shot at districts this year. Although Simon has swept the district during the regular season. Walton and Grant has played them close throughout the game. Neither Walton or Grant played their best in those games either. The District to me personally is wide-open to any of the three teams. But like i said if #3 for Grant is out that will definitely hurt their chances. Carr and Hunt when hot can shoot from anywhere on the floor. They are two of the best shooters in the district and even possibly the region. The new comer Freshman #10 Johnson i think for them has stepped it up it big situations in big games. He is a young point guard, not very big put plays calm and under-control in just about any situation. Shipp is a quiet player, he does not put up alot of points but plays his role by playing solid defense and rebounding. For Walton they either show up some nights and not so much on others. They have a lot of talent and can beat Simon on any given night. I look forward to watching these teams play in the 32 District Tournament this year. I see an upset brewing and coming out with a new champion this season.
  15. I agree Grant does not get a lot of respect, but they also lose games they shouldn't as well. However this yrs team has played very well from what ive heard and the few games ive seen. very quick, can run the floor and is able to get good shots off for the most part. I have only been able to see Owen once this yr so far, but they are very good ball club and i predict to win their district
