10 Good
  1. D.Miller is a great player to watch. I think he needs to realize how good he can truly be. He could take over any game if he wanted to. I think he needs to assert himself more, like Rolls-Royce said, instead of trying to be mean and nasty. UK will offer a scholarship if Tubby is still there, because they have already been burned once by not recruiting YOUKNOWWHO, and Darius would be a great pick up. I may have missed it somewhere on here, but how tall is this kid??? He looks about 6'8 on the court.
  2. I would like to see the Devils bring another title home. Ivan McGlone is the Man!! I find it hard not to cheer for Russell, the could beat most of the teams in the district by 100 points, but refuse to do so. They are the definition of class.
  3. I don't remember McCowan dominating at any point in the game. He was in early foul trouble, and only finished with 12 points. I thought Haney should have gotten more touches, he is a beast on the block, West had no answer.
  4. I heard 24 for Ferguson, an excellent game by an excellent player. The referees were nervous. A few times tonight a technical should have been called against Weddington. In particularly the pointing at the scoreboard incident and when he took the charge on Burge, and then proceded to tell him about it. The turning point in the game was the press. East Carter's guards choked under the pressure. It was two dribbles the corner, pick it up, and then turn it over. Weddington was too tough to see over. I also thought that East went away from their game plan after the 1st quarter. They simply did not have the fire power to stay with Elliott, as few teams do. Their controlled offense seemed to deflate Elliotts energy in the 1st quarer, but for some reason they went away from it. Elliott played hard and deserved to win. Best of luck Thursday, and in Morehead.
  5. West Carter can make it to state. They defeated the top team in the 16th region Morgan Co., at Morgan Co. They displayed a tremendous amount of poise and heart in a very hostile environment. After ending the season with 4 losses in a row, at run to Rupp would certainly qualify as a Cinderella Story.
  6. Excellent effot by both teams. Jones simply took over. I think Coach McGlone may of coached the best game of the year. Their zone defense forced the ball out of McCowans hands. West showed their true potential tonight by defeating the top team in the region on their home court. This was one of the few times this year West came to play for the entire 32 minutes. (Bryan Station and East the 1st time). If they play as hard as they did tonight no one will want to line up against them in Morehead. As for Morgan I thought each player and coach displayed a tremendous amount of class after the game.
  7. West played half of the game without 1 starter, Hollingsworth. Had he been in at the begining the game may have been different. The first 3 minutes of the game West looked kinda lost. Good game from Jones, Wolfe, and C. Barker.
  8. I'll take Fairview by 5, they have a little bit of everything. Good defense, good guard play, excellent big men. Owens may drop 40 but who else will score?? Fairview will not let one man win this game. This is just an outsiders take on the game.
  9. I'll take Elliott by 8. Elliott is a very tough match up, and they won't have 2 bad shooting games in a row.
  10. What?? They didn't show up to play just because they got beat by West? Fleming is not that tough. Their defense is suspect, shooting is questionable, and they have no bench. They just got beat by a better team. A team that just went down to the wire against Madison Central, AT CENTRAL. Had West not been cold in the first half, it would have been a blowout. If any body didn't show up it was the Comets, because they could have put it way out of reach when they were up by 15.
  11. Buchanan's camp is top notch. He is extremely knowledgible about the game, and really helps each camper improve dramatically. Also one of the nicest people you would ever meet.
  12. Yes, one ref in particular for West. His intitials are JB, and he has reffed all but two of their games so far. He seems to really have it out for a couple of players. One foul in the second quarter was the worst call of the night, and really started to change the momentum. I along with the rest of the West Carter faithful are getting sick of seeing his sinister grin walk out the the lockerroom. But, don't get me wrong, he IS NOT the reason the comets lost the game, Elliott seemed to want it more.
  13. Bandit, Were you at the game? Those two refs were not the cause of West losing; they are however not good. Billman does not even know who the fouls are on. Nevertheless West lost the game because of lack of defense in the 4th quarter. West needs to run some plays for players other than Jones and Hollingsworth. It doesn't take long for the opposing teams to figure out who is going to shoot the ball.
  14. 1.St. Mary 2.UHA 3.Owensboro Catholic 4.Russellville 5.Bardstown 6.Shawnee 7.Moore 8.Carroll Co. 9.Holy Cross 10.Bishop Brossart 11.Lexington Christian 12.Somerset 13.Barbourville 14.Hazard 15.Paintsville 16.West Carter 1st tie breaker- 11th
  15. West Carter easliy handled East Carter, 54 to 30 in one of the most lopsided wins in the rivalries recent history. Jones carried West, scoring the first seven points of the game, and ended up with 26. Good production from Hollingsworth and Wolfe. Comets displayed the best on the ball defense they've played this year. Both teams started out well, but the Comets simply would not be denied.
