Agree to disagree. I do know one thing we can agree on, and that is no way the Steelers are picking 32nd.

I agree on not over paying Murphy, but I did think they should have did the 5th year option on him, as that wouldn't have been that expensive, and much cheaper than the going rate for DL these days. However, with all the guys they need to extend, I see why they didn't now. I really like Chase Brown, but if they can only pay 2 of the 3. Then I would focus on Turner and Mims. I honestly would prioritize Dax Hill over Chase Brown too, only because it is still easier to find RB's then it is to find DB's.

When the Bengals draft 32nd this year in the 1st round after the Super Bowl. They should be in a good spot to get a top guard, and or still a good tackle. I also want to add, I see why now the Bengals probably decided not to do the 5th year option on Murphy. As its not that Murphy is bad, but more so the Bengals are going to have to break the bank to pay Mims. As Mims is going to be paid like one of the top tackles in the league probably starting next year. As he should be our Willie Anderson on the right side of the line for the next 10 years or more. He has been dominant two weeks in a row, while going against very good pass rushers.

Bracken County travels to Walton-Verona this week for each teams first district game of the season. Bracken County has won this game the last 3 years, however Walton-Verona is coming into this on a roll after winning their last 3 games this season including two shutout victories. Will Bracken County continue their winning steak over Walton, or will Walton-Verona stay hot and make it 4 straight wins this season.

Up until the last 3 years this game has always been a through the records out type of game, and was always a tough battle. I think there could be potential of it getting back to that again. Cooper obviously has had the better season so far, and Conner is very young. Cooper's defense has been very good this year, so I do think Conner may have a hard time scoring points. With that said Cooper's offense hasn't exactly been great this year themselves. Which Conner's Defensive Coordinator is a former long time Cooper Assistant coach and was the DC for 2 of Cooper's 3 state title appearances. So I am sure he will have some extra motivation going into this one. If Conner's defense can make Cooper's offense continue to struggle to score points and force a few turnovers, this game could be interesting. As I believe for Conner to win, this game would need to be a 10 to 7 type of game. If Cooper's offense does put up some points, then I can see Cooper winning by a few scores like a 28 to 7 type of score.

Mims will basically shutdown Watt for the most part. Highsmith could be an issue, but still isn't as good as the DEs they saw this week. Bengals should win by 10 or more.

Brown has been very bad, no argument there. However, once again who do you replace him with? You're not going to find someone better than him right now. If you replaced him, you will be having to make sure you have someone helping and chipping to help whoever you replaced him with. So I don't think the answer is finding someone else. The answer is simply Taylor and the offensive staff have to realize he is not good enough anymore to be left on an island like they like to do with their tackles. Especially when facing elite pass rushers. They need to do more chipping and helping, rather than replacing him.

Hopefully this is a sign to come that both UK and UL can both be good at football at the same time and really make the rivalry even more fun.

Well the hype machine around UK and Stein showed today that maybe there was good reason to be excited after all.

St. Henry is out of Beechwood's district starting next year.

I think if people truly think St. Henry having a football program won't have any impact on CovCath is lying to themselves, and just having wishful thinking. Even if it is maybe just 2 or 3 kids in a grade level every year that probably would have been at CovCath, if it wasn't for St. Henry that still makes a difference over time. As that could potentially by 9 players on a varsity roster that could have helped over the next few years. Same with freshman teams currently. While this CovCath freshman team as people have said, kind of came in not being the best anyways. If St. Henry didn't have a football program, maybe they would have had 2 or 3 kids from that St. Henry team then playing freshman at Covcath. 2 or 3 kids at a freshman level depending on their talent, could make a huge difference on a freshman team success too. So while it may or may not have a huge drastic impact, it is still going to have an impact.

Fair enough, and I agree they have to clean up the penalties. With that said all the years Dayton has played Newport and NCC over the last 20 to 30 years, those teams were the ones with more talent than Dayton. I am not so sure that is the case this season. Plus Dayton definitely will have the most talented player on the field in those games this year. So I do think it will be interesting.
