Lankheit is pretty good, but Tanner Norton may be one of the top catchers, if not the best in N. Kentucky.

Although he may not be there yet, Luke Hennigan is a Frosh at HHS who will catch a lot of varsity games this year. He lettered as an 8th grader last year and has all of the defensive techniques to become a very good one. Once his physical maturity catches up with his technique (arm strength and at the plate), he will be fun to watch.

You are correct. His receiving skills are advanced for his age.

Norton hands down is the best catcher in NKY. Jake is very close!

I know Jake was getting some serious interest from TN Tech in the summer and fall.

 

From what I remember of Norton from last year he is very good behind the plate. My memory is foggy on his bat.

While I agree on Norton ability behind the plate, it's tough to look at his home game stats to judge his hitting ability as St. Marys (BB home field), has to be the smallest baseball fields in the area!

BTW I need to add the kid indeed can hit but I think his numbers are helped by the size of the field!

My guess is if schools such as UL are showing interest then it's based on summer ball.

Indeed summer Baseball is where the College Coaches watch the HS baseball players. Some College Coaches come out to watch some of the NKy local kids play like Jeff Hetzer of TMC during the season when he can but most watch during the summer season where the better players are matched up against the better pitchers game after game!

Yes, not sure of his exact size but put together really well. I agree with not taking his high school home stats as a reference point due to where he plays but I have seen him hit since he was 9 years old and he could always hit. I believe it was the summer tournament at East Cobb where he got the most attention. I'm not sure which Ohio team he is playing for this summer but he will be one to watch for sure.

 

Nothing against Lankheit as he is very good as well but Norton is probably around 6'2" if I had to guess but I haven't seen him since last summer.

Kyle Kramer from Scott High School is in the top 2 or 3. He is a Jr and has been playing varsity since he was a freshman. He can also flat out hit a baseball.
