All Star Saturday

That dunk contest was awful. There goes 20 minutes of my life I will never get back.

Beyond awful. Barkley is hilarious tough.

All Star Saturday just keeps losing its luster. I was hoping after Blake Griffins emergence that the event would grow once more but after the Nate Robinson fiasco a few years ago the Dunk Contest has just hit an all time low. Which I can understand because theres only so many dunks you can do that haven't ever been done before but once they allowed Dwight Howard the props it has totally changed the dunk contest to add flavor and I think has just killed it in the process. Only way I can see them getting it back on track is having the fans vote on who they want to see participate and not allow props (can allow assists, chairs, ball racks, common items) but no specific stage props like the Dwight Howard goal, Paul George's black light set up, Blake Griffins KIA, etc.

I know the Dunk contest is just a part of All-Star Saturday but without an entertaining dunk contest the skills challenge and 3 point shootout cannot hold it together by themselves.

Disagree. Make the 3 point contest and the skill challenge 3 rounds. I am highly entertained by both. Vince Carter killed the dunk contest in 2001. I really have a hard time remembering any dunks in the dunk contests after that.

Only one way to fix it. 1 million dollar prize winner take all.

Even in the daggone All Star game he STILL won't take the last shot......smh......

Lebron is not at fault. Although I only watched the last 2 minutes he seemed to be the one wh brought them back. 2 unbelievable 3's late. Wade bobbled the lead away and a failed box out allowed for easy put backs. Williams missed an easy spot up 3. The pass by James was probably not the best idea but they still had chances and he will end up getting unfair criticism from the media and some fans.

Whatever. Even Kobe got on him for not taking that last shot. Even in the All Star game he defers. Sad.

What's sad is all the haters. He takes the last shot ad misses then he's a choke, he defers and he's a coward. It's a no win for him.

^ Can't be afraid to fail. You miss 100% of the shots you don't take.

No doubt about it but Lebron was in the right not taking either final shot. I believe he wants to take the first but he was doubled so he passed it out to option 2 which was Williams. Hte last shot yeah he probably could have tried to take but with the players quickly surrounding him he passed it off. If anything Lebron should not have been bringing in the ball on the final play but rather he should have been the one off the screen to take the shot.

Williams was open I didn't have a problem with that at all.

I don't hate LeBron. Not at all. I want to see him display the killer instinct of Kobe. People can say what they want about Kobe but he'll take that last shot regardless. I want to see that from LeBron. Until he does that his greatness will never be validated, IMO.

I'll be proud to see him just take that shot whether he makes it or not. Just take the daggone shot.

That's an excuse. He hit a deep three on Kobe a few minutes before that and rimmed a fallaway three right after that. He can create his own shot whenever he wants. After he got the rebound from Williams miss he should have took that shot instead of making a one handed cross court pass.....one of the worst passes to make in the game of basketball. If he shoots...three things happen.....it goes in....it misses and they get the rebound....it misses and the other team rebounds. 2 of those 3 possibilities are good for his team. SHOOT THE BALL LEBRON!!!!!

Maybe when he defers and someone actually comes through or he doesn't turn it over then maybe he'll receive less criticism. Until then we are watching the most talented person to ever play the game of basketball refuse to take control of a situation after taking control for the whole daggone game. He's going to be the man for 47 minutes and be scared in the last minute? Whatever.
