gold sunrise
The Eagles — No. 18 in The Courier-Journal’s Litkenhous Ratings — shocked No. 4 Ballard 79-76 in the 28th District Tournament final at Eastern Friday. Tyrell Corlew scored 38 points for the Eagles (17-13), who avenged an 85-65 loss to Ballard on Feb. 10 on the same court. That means Eastern automatically will play a district runner-up in the first round of next week’s Seventh Region Tournament at Bellarmine University. Ballard (23-8) will draw a champion from another district for its first-round foe. “To be honest, this is not a big deal for Ballard,” Eastern coach Jason Couch said. “Ballard is one of the best four or five teams in the state. We’ve been up and down all year. This is huge for us.” Roundup | Eastern basketball upsets Ballard for title | The Courier-Journal | courier-journal.com
tcjkbt
Ballard is going to be a tough draw for a district winner in the first round of the regional, either Trinity, St. X or (I think) Moore.

imsosilly
The saying "more with less" applies here. Big talent differential between these two, but Eastern found a way to get it done!
Getslow
To some team next week: "Congratulations on winning your district. Your reward is a regional first-round game against the No. 4 team in Kentucky." Brutal.
