George Rogers Clark 64 Dixie Heights 59

Good win for the Cards.

Dixie really needs to learn how to finish games. No excuse for blowing an 18 point lead but credit should go to GRC for showing character and fighting back.

Holding Hassel to 7 is much more important than locking Hatton down, IMO. B Hatt is going to get his, regardless. It's containing the others such as Hassel, Evans, and Fox that will beat Dixie.

Things don't get easier for the Colonels with Holmes on Tues.

Have you seen him play? 17 is a good effort by GRC.

Agree

I think holding Hatton to 17 would take an effort, the kid can play.

This is what is so special about this GRC team they never panic. We out scored Dixie 27-15 in the 4th quarter. This is when our defense took over and we feed our ofense off of it. Stenzel had 3 or 4 steals, then scored and one. What # was Hassel? I remember Fox is #4 I believe.

Dixie has a nice ball team, and I wish them the best the rest of the seaon and post season.

Maybe he was locked down during the GRC Run when it mattered. Quite possibly maybe Hatton scored most of his 17 during the first half when they jumped ahead Big.

That would make more sense Q. Was thinking the same thing.

According to the Enquirer Stat page, he averages about 18.6/game. So in this game he had 1 below his avg. and it's a lockdown. OK.

He can score at will or he can dish it out. How many assists did he have? He does what is needed to win.

Dixie posts their stats on scoreboard, will be able to see some of the stats when they are posted.

Cards rally from 18 down to beat Dixie Heights

“It was a great win for us,” Clark coach¿Scott Humphrey said. “We were down 18 and Dixie was playing lights out. They’re a really good team and they were clicking pretty much on all cylinders. Nothing was going our way, but it goes back to what we’ve been saying all year long: If we can give this team a chance to win, with their mental toughness, their heart and character, they’re find a way (to win) and they did that again tonight.”

It was Stenzel who kept the Cards afloat after the Colonels outscored Clark 20-6 in the first quarter. Facing a 20-12 deficit with four minutes left in the second quarter, the Cards closed the half with a 13-3 run, trimming the lead to 32-25 at the break. Stenzel made three shots from long range during the spurt and scored 12 of his 24 points in the first two quarters.

Stenzel, who made five shots from longe range, gave Clark its first lead at 47-46 on a trey from the right corner with six minutes left. Clark pushed the lead to 59-52 with 1:30 remaining, but the Colonels staged a rally in the closing minute and had a chance to tie on a 3-pointer by Brandon Hatton with 17 seconds remaining, but the shot bounced off the front of the rim.

Clark connected on four free throws — all by Adam Fatkin — to fend off the late comeback attempt by the guests. Fatkin followed Stenzel with 21 points and Taylor Howard chipped in with 11 for the Cards.

Fatkin said the team’s comeback started in the second quarter.

Humphrey said his team’s defense proved to be a difference in the successful comeback attempt.

“We dug in defensively and started guarding in the second , third and fourth quarters,” he said. Charlie Rogers just missed twin digits with eight points. Parker Stansberry made three treys and led the Colonels with 20 points.

Hassel wears #1.
