Final from Hebron

Nice game by the Cougars as they jumped out early 18-7 after the first qtr. Hemmerich nailed some shots Drew Barker had a really nice game as well. Barker made all 8 of his FT attempts leading the Cougars with 18 points. Hemmerich ended up with 16. Brady Padgett tossed in 10 points as Well.

The Birds made a couple of runs in the 2nd half to cut the Lead to 7 at one point in the 3rd qtr but the Cougars drilled a couple treys to take the air out.

Birds got a really strong game from SR Center Patrick Towles who les with 22 points. He was 6/6 from the charity stripe. Luke Turner had 12 and Bailey Witte added 10 points.

The Cougars played Well, Shot extremely well from the field and were 18/20 from the FT line which helped Keep the Birds at bay late in the game.

Conner improves to 8-13 while the Bluebirds fall to 7-12.

First time seeung the Birds. PT is a horse. Needs more touches. Works hard for position.

Witte looks like a varsity player.

PG play needs to be better.

As I said last night Conner cannot win without Cody Huff playing well. He did today with some early steals to help Conner jump out 12-0.

68 today.

73 total inprevious 2 games.

Wow. Surprised at this score. Just when I thought Highlands was playing well. Congrats on the victory Cougars.

Came out lethargic and Conner made their first 3 shots which gave them confidence and the rest was history. The way Conner played today they could've beaten a lot of teams in a 9th.

Tripleheader today.

Highlight was at the end of the frosh game. Conner put in their subs and with less than a minute to go, one of those young men hit a long three. He is obviuosly loved by the Conner program as the parents, coaches, and team erupted. It was a great moment.

Who played guard for Highlands? Are they still trying a load of kids in that spot?

Isn't Witte a varsity player? I like his game. Shoots well when given the chance.

New and Lewis aré the guards for Highlands. Turner and Witte play the 3 and 4 while Towles is the 5.

My "varsity player" comment about Witte referred to him "looking the part" with his game. Strong kid. Fairly athletic. Knows how to play. Good stroke. Can go to the rim.

Padgett played well yesterday. Knows how to play a true post game unlike many high school kids.

A big plus for Conner was the play off the bench by Abdon. If the kid keeps his head in the game he can really help Conner.

18 for Barker.

16 for Hemmerich.

We are on the same page. Nice player.

Abdon hit a couple tough shots with defenders in his grill and buried a 3 late to Keep the Lead over 10.

Padgett played Well around the basket, hes undersized for a post player but his ability to score over the taller Towles in the post was Mind boggling to me. Towels played great D on him but Padgett was able to get his shots just above Towles' fingertips. Its all about timing and positioning in That case and he Did Well.

Good to finally meet ya Clyde i could have chatted Hoops all day with ya.

The player that you mentioned is Kyle Koors. He's the younger brother of Bryan Koors who is a senior and plays for the varsity team. I believe he has Down Syndrome. He came into the game with less than a minute to go and buried a 3 point shot from 25 feet. Pretty neat to watch as not only the Conner crowd erupted but the Highlands crowd stood and cheered, too.
