Oldham County will miss the McEhlenny girl. She was a stud pitcher, could play anywhere else on defense and could hit. She was a great all around player. I know Oldham has other really good players returning but they will defintiely miss McEhlenny. They only had two seniors I believe so I agree they should definitely compete for the 29th district title.

Spencer County lose a lot. I watched them play in the regionals and thought them to be a very good team.

Yes, she is at Mercy. Will be hard for Spencer County to replace her.

As amatter of fact, all three Mercy pitchers reside in the 8th Region. JJ Francis-South Oldham, Hayley Twyman-Spencer Co, and L. Thomas-Spencer co. The 8th might look radically different if those three played in the 8th. All are fine young ladies.

If Gallatin can find a solid replacement at 1B, they could possibly compete for the the 8th Region title. Unfortunately, the best 1B is also best 3B. Coach Edmondson will have a tough task finding a new 1B that can fill the void left by graduation.

Not pitching her is probably what cost them the chance to advance past the first round of the 8th Region tournament last season, and a chance at the 8th Region title.

To be fair, at the time one was 13-4 and the other 12-4, the fact the kid was his daughter is irrelevant.

Really? Why do you think this? Nothing against the coaches daughter, but the McElhinny girl is a stud and I would have pitched her in any game that meant something. However, in all fairness I have seen the McElhinny girl pitch but not the other girl. Were they comprable as far as pitching and athleticism?
