Southwestern 55 Woodford County 50

Featured Replies

Southwestern shot the rock a lot better in the 2nd half and pulled it out. They play Miami Senior High tomorrow at 7pm.

#13 Warriors survive per the scoreboard.

I heard that Jay Johnson dressed for this game, did he play?

No. Apparently he is dressing every game. Participating in warmups. Dunking with ease but will not play until January 13 is what someone said in the updates thread. I know some of the Woodford boys from our AAU team this summer and I was very proud of them last night. Had they shot the rock a little better in the 2nd half they win this game which would have been yet another great victory without their star player.

Thanks, Goldie.

I asked in the updates thread why they would allow him to participate in warmups. Seems like he could risk further injury if he isn't ready to play. He had a slight limp but he can still dunk it with ease. He looked good enough to me but I am not a doctor. I am sure it is killing him to not be out there but it is good to know he'll be back.

A lot of times kids are first cleared to participate in "no contact" drills before being fully released. I would guess that to be the case here.

Woodford has been very competitive without Johnson. When he returns they will be a real contender in the 11th. Hopefully Greenwell and Gross will keep doing good things and avoid the temptation to relax when Jay returns.

No doubt. I'll be very intrigued to see how they perform with him.

Is Gross #10? If so, he was on fire in the first half and then Southwestern went to a box and one on him and shut him down.

If BYU is looking at him then Taylor Gover should be getting high end D-1 looks.

He looked fine but not any better than any of the other top PGs in the 12th region.
