Final from the King of the Bluegrass in Louisville.

Thomasville went 6'8, 6'8, 6'5 on the front line and two of those guys were built like grown men.

 

I loved the way Dixie battled. They didn't back down. Had some attitude.

 

Down 9 in the 3rd. Worked it back to taking a lead late in the 4th after Hatton hit a 3 to go up 1 and then was fouled and made 2 on a subsequent steal.

 

However, Dixie got lazy with passes and paid the price. Dixie's PGs have to be stronger with their passing.

 

Fox just exudes talent and skill. However, I wish he'd play with a little more intensity. Way too laid back for my tastes and sometimes his passes reflect that. He has a chance to be really, really good.

 

Hassell guarded like a crazy man. He was all over the Thomasville guards.

 

Nice job by Chev and his staff tonight.

Teams not faring well against out of state competition. Soundslike some serious competition though. Looking forward to the Mike Murphy Classic at Mason Co. and the Fifth third tourney at Lex.Cath.

It's serious competition without question. I really liked how Dixie played last night as it translates to the 9th.

 

They have a lot of pieces and the two big boys off the bench give good minutes and production.

This has traditionally been the toughest tourney in the state with the out of state teams that participate. Although not winning, the Colonels are showing they can

compete. This will make them better, however, losing never is the feeling you want to be left with. Boone and Holmes have fared well in the past in this tourney

and did help them. DHHS is the team to beat in the 9th, but that is no surprise.

What were the two 6'8" kids stats, and how did they compare to the kid from Lex Cath.

Different. These kids were very muscular and long. The kid from LexCath is skinny and not as powerful.

He took a shot to the nose when defending the big boy. Kid had the ball up high and spun around and caught him on the bridge of his nose. It looked bad. Give credit to Parker. He came back later. This was the most physical I've seen Parker play.

Hatton had to guard one of the 6'8 kids for much of the night. Did a nice job overall. Battled hard. Both drew Ts for battling a bit too hard.

Dixie might have lost but they have fared well against some very good talent. Read somewhere that this years KOB may be the deepest with quality talent that It's ever had.
