Big game in Florence tonight as the Lady Rebels play the Princeton Vikings.

 

It's not often in NKY that you get to see a game featuring two nationally-ranked players. We all know about Miss Moss but Princeton has the #1 rated player in the country for the class of 2014 in the Mitchell girl.

 

Should be a fun game.

I know that my father will be in attendance, so I'm sure I will receive a call later this evening about his thoughts on the game.

I'm going to say Princeton by 12. For these reasons Boone is missing their 2 best shooters from last year and nobody has stepped up for Boone to fill that void just yet. I'm sure Ms.Moss will get her points as with Lydia Nash but Zuri has been somewhat inconsistant with her put backs after offensive rebounds. If she can find away to convert all of those boards then she may be able to fill that void. Also looking for signs of a shooter other than Sydney. Looking at Princeton on paper they are very solid and Mitchell is a flat out player! and the rest of the team seems to be very balanced and they are also big in size and quick so if theyt put some pressure on Boone it may be a long night for those guards.

Close game. Boone led most of first half. Allowing open three point shots absolutely killed Boone. Boone was up 22-14 after one. Moss played well but was the only real scoring Boone had other than 10 by Hill. Princeton was lights out from three much of the game. Mitchell was very good too and had about 25 or 27 points, but Moss was had the better performance, finishing with about 33.

Moss finished with 38 points 16 rebounds and 6 blocks. Mitchell had 30 but if not for foul trouble in the second half she could have easily had 40 in my opinion. Boone did everything they could but she was just on tonight. Jones didnt have a very good game but the younger guards came in and stepped up. Need to hit one or two more shots in the 4th qtr and Boone may have pulled it out but when they had to foul at the end Princeton didnt miss a free throw. Great game all around and good luck to both teams on the rest of the season.
