Very few? Well, in comparison to the amount of people involved with OWS, sure there are more that are peaceful. However, there have been far too many incidents reported and you can bet your life there are a heck of a lot more crimes that don't get reported. So, it really isn't generalizing, it's happening too much and not by just two or three of them. Unfortunately, the dregs love to come out to play at events (for lack of a better word) like OWS.

My biggest problem with Occupy Wall Street is how they get a free pass. Tea Party rallies followed the law, received all the proper permits, and paid the fees for security when needed at their rallies. Occupy Wall Street and Occupy wherever have all failed to do that, but when they are called out on it they scream free speech. They act like they speak for everyone which is ignorant as well, they do not speak for me, I have a job and I work hard. If I decided to take a 2 month vacation in the city park to "protest" I would lose my job. It's no one's responsibility but my own to ensure that my wife and I are fed and have a roof over your head. If you want to effect change in huge corporations don't buy their products, you wallet will speak louder than your camp site every could.

How many of them do you think have over 30 grand in unpaid student loans that are being sent to collections? I have over 70k in student loans and I make my payments every month. Trust me I would love to have that extra $850.00 bucks in my wallet, but I borrowed the money so I need to pay it back. This whole movement makes my generation look terrible. I have never had trouble getting a job all the way back to my first job. Many times I worked multiple jobs while in undergrad so I could help pay my bills and have extra spending money. Since I was 17 I've never went longer than two months without a job when I wanted one, and even in that stretch I turned down one job offer. If you want to work, jobs are out there. The problem with most of these protestors is they want to be handed a job paying 70k a year with full benefits. I would caution against generalizations. I do not think this protest reflects poorly on "your generation."

Most of my generalizations are on my own friends and peers my age that I personally know that support the movement. I generally don't respond to their posts on Facebook or twitter because I don't see the point in arguing with them (that's what these boards are for), but far too many of them just seem to want a hand out or be bitter that they don't have the house and car as soon as college is over. I want it to, but in a tough economy it takes longer to get things, and that is unfortunately where we are.

The incidents are not a product of the protest or the product of the issues being protested. They are a product of the fact that large groups of people are sleeping in downtown areas which means the homeless and criminals will find them as easy prey. Had the TP decided to protest govt spending and taxes by staging a sit-in/camp out in Bucotti Park we would have the same crimes. Heck, we might have more since the criminals knows the TPers are the intelligent and the employed.

That I don't know, but it's a large number. I doubt seriously it's less than 1% and would be surprised it's as low as 3 to 5% and that's too many for me.
