One thing that did get refs in trouble with the calls were the fact there whistles were always late and they never sold a call. Very hesitant to say the least.

I agree, there were some fishy calls, but the officials were not the reason SL won. SL was clearly the better team and would have won without the fishy calls. There really were no game changing calls, but it hurt Pendelton when they had to go to their bench early in the second because of foul trouble.

 

However, the bad thing about those calls is that they taint a great effort by SL, and an effort that would have resulted in a win regardless (maybe not by 18 though).

You did recognize the referees didn't you? 12th region officials.. Not a surprise to me at all, an I know exactly what you are talking about.

 

Yup, I'm familiar with all these guys. But I've never seen them this off, and I've seen a lot of games involving all three over the past few years.

Well, I am a fan of no team, so I would hope that you would not call me a homer one way or another. If I'm saying the officiating was shaky, just wait till the Pendleton Co. fans get home and get online, because they were absolutely livid.

Having those guys in foul trouble hurt Pendleton BADLY but I'm pretty sure it did not have an outcome of the game. It was a very frustrating span in the 2nd quarter though and the bogus call on Belcher in the third quarter. Hopefully there will be a rematch in Rupp and the Cats can get the outcome to go the other way. I'd trade the loss tonight for the win later in the season. Congrats to the Cards tonight.

Pendleton is better than tonight's game showed. On a neutral court, SL wins this game by 4 or 6. Nothing I have seen out of Pendleton the past few days makes me change my assessment that they are one of the top five teams in Kentucky.
