Gold Glove Winners Announced

Looking at the original website, it looks like they may have had the winners posted all along. Thought it was just a formatting issue, as the first names listed were in a slightly smaller font...but, it looks like everybody they've named on the show were those guys.

Ramirez and Gardner got snubbed in the AL.

Upton and Bruce should have won over Ethier and Kemp is the person who deserved it the least. Can't believe he won it.

American League

P -- Mark Buehrle, CHW

C -- Matt Wieters, BAL

1B -- Adrian Gonzalez, BOS

2B -- Dustin Pedroia, BOS

SS -- Erick Aybar, LAA

3B -- Adrian Beltre, TEX

LF -- Alex Gordon, KC

CF -- Jacoby Ellsbury, BOS

RF -- Nick Markakis, BAL

National League

P -- Clayton Kershaw, LAD

C -- Yadier Molina, STL

1B -- Joey Votto, CIN

2B -- Brandon Phillips, CIN

SS -- Troy Tulowitzki, COL

3B -- Placido Polanco, PHI

LF -- Gerardo Parra, ARI

CF -- Matt Kemp, LAD

RF -- Andre Ethier, LAD

Glad to see the Reds players recieving recognition.

Kemp is the only glaring problem I notice this year. If this is a straight up defensive award, it should have gone to Gomez from Milwaukee this year, although you can talk about how few innings he played. Maybe Maybin from the Padres instead.

I'd also have gone with Gardner over Gordon, but that's not necessarily one I'm hugely bothered by.

Am I correct in thinking that outfield Gold Gloves don't go one each to a left fielder, right fielder and center fielder but that it can be any combination of outfielders?

Apparently they changed it this year (which is fine with me). Now they do specifically recognize all 9 positions, and don't lump the outfield all together.

^ I like that as well. There are distinct differences to how those positions are played and I like them separate.

I am not a baseball expert but I agree with this as well. Glad that each position gethe recognition.
