October 26, 201114 yr I agree that Romney is the only R with a chance. If the R's nominate anyone else, this is going to be Bob Dole versus Bill Clinton. Obama is going to have a good story he can spin - he has accomplished nearly all his major campaign promises that got him elected (healthcare reform, troops out of Iraq, focus war efforts in Afghanistan, new financial regulations); add on the other foreign policy achievements led by killing Osama Bin Laden; the economy is so bad now that it will almost surely be better next year so he will even claim progress in that area; we are guaranteed an additional $1.2 trillion in spending cuts at the end of this year so he will spin that and take credit. Throw in his eloquence and poise in debates. He is going to be tough to beat. You're right, that is nice spin but none of that will matter if unemployment is hovering around 9% and Romney is the opponent.
