I know this is just a thread of speculation but if these kids stayed in the CVG school system and attended Holmes, just how good would they be?

Jalen Avery PG 6'1

Christian Mclendon SF 6'2

Brandon Hatton SG 6'2

Kevon Rice PF 6'6

You look at the current Holmes roster with 6'5 Dontel Rice and the slick shooting 6' Quan Palmer. Defensive specialist BJ Coston who can also fill it up. Throw in big boy Chuck Knox on the blocks.

These are 8 very good basketball players and you throw in Booher and his coaching experience.

I think it's a potential state championship caliber team. They definitely would be ranked #1 in the Region preseason IMO.

I believe Kevon Rice was a Senior last year.

It seems like, year after year, Holmes has a revolving door. Players are there, leave, comeback etc.

I believe Kevon Rice was a Senior last year.

You are correct.

I've heard Holmes accused of recruiting before, but the bottom line is the Covington school district has a very transit student body.

6' 7" David Stephans of Simon Kenton and 5' 9" Jakief Pitts of Boone Co. were also at Holmes until their Junior seasons. Darez Waller and Desean Peterson recently transferred back to Holmes after spending some of last year at Dixie.

That team would have been loaded for sure. I'd compare them to the 08 Holmes state runner up team. No true stars but a lot of guys that do everything very well and compliment eachother nicely. Hatton would be the Arrez Henderson of that group without the freakish athleticism.

Hell, add Edmondson and Hester to the 07 state semi final team and we might be talking about 3 straight state title appearances instead of 2.
