Check out Adrian Gonzalez's numbers at home and away when he played for the Padres, and then compare it to what he did in Boston. Which is one season in Boston. You tried to make it sound like he wasn't a great player, because he plays in a hitters ballpark. Then you posted numbers trying to support that by how he is better at home than the road. Yet his road average is still just about .300 which is really good. So his numbers while compared to other great players would still be very good considering he is still basically a .300 at home or on the road.

Gonzalez is one of the game's better hitters, but the point I was making was that his raw numbers suffered because he was playing half his games in Petco Park. This season, in a little more normal hitting environment, he put up MVP-caliber numbers.
