gold sunrise Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 Woodford County standout Jay Johnson has committed to play basketball at Tennessee Tech. Yellowjackets coach Scott Hundley announced Johnson's decision via email. Johnson, a 6-foot-7 forward, is considered one of the state's best prospects in the Class of 2012. Johnson is currently rehabbing a knee after undergoing surgery this summer. He is expected to be back on the court by the beginning of the year. Johnson also had offers from Coastal Carolina and Gardner-Webb. He averaged 20 points and 14 rebounds for Woodford Co. as a junior. http://www.wkyt.com/sports/headlines/Woodfords_Johnson_commits_to_Tennessee_Tech_130787788.html
PurplePride92 Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 Congrats to him. I can't help but wonder if he may have had different choices had he not gotten hurt. I still remember when he got hurt. It didn't seem to be too serious of an injury at the time. I hope he can make it back to the court for his senior year at some point. Great player who I have enjoyed watching the past two years. Even his off balance one handed three pointer at the buzzer to beat my Rebels was a sight to see. Congrats and good luck Jay.
MBKT Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 Jay is a very fine player. Congratulations. I see that Happy Osborne may have had a hand in this one.... in his new gig at TT.
Plato Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 I think he will be a very good player in the OVC. Nice sign by Happy and the TN Tech staff.
