Artificial turf in Kentucky

Featured Replies

During the fall season at Lex. Cath, both soccer teams practice at the same time the Football team practices. On Saturdays, there will be about 15-25 youth leauge football games. Sometimes a jv game, and then a jv and varsity soccer game. No way a grass field, no matter how well maintained could accomidate this schedule.

Did you know that Kentucky is dead last in spending per pstudent?

Why is that? That's sad.

With the adoption of KERA. Spending levels froze, at least in Fayette Co. , says the Lexington Paper. Same is spent today as in 1991 or 1992.

At Harlan, we don't even have a booster's club or any way to make money, except for the coffee mugs we sell and our annual lift-a-thon!

The sports turf looks great, but I think it takes away from the tradition of highschool football.

Great news for all NKY teams, in addition to Dixie's playoff opponents! Dixie will have a new field next season! Complete with turf and stands on both sides of the field! :ylsuper: According to the BOE, reconstruction of the athletic facilities will start early 2006 and the new football complex will be ready in August 2006. Our tax dollars at work finally (unless that construction delay dragon breeds it's ugly head)!

Don't worry, that dragon is still down here in Southeast Ky. at Letcher Central. Doesn't look like he is going anywhere soon.
