hrcarrier Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 After seeing the way Walton played Dayton tonight, they can definitely play with Lloyd, maybe even beat them. MANY issues needing fixed with the Green Devils. Need to play with a lot more heart and discipline. Congratulations to Walton-Verona.
Bluerunner Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 Dayton looked better than I thought they would. It was 14-0 Walton when Dayton drove the ball down the field and turned the ball over on downs at the 4 yard line. The next play went 96 yards to the house for a Walton touchdown. Went from being a possible 1 score game to 3 scores in a flash. Dayton's sails lost their air and it went south fast from here. I thought Dayton played pretty disciplined, and they have a couple of boys with some speed and size. They need to learn to finish. The season has started, now its trial by fire. They will get better as the season goes. The Bearcats took care of the football and played very good defense. Glad to see the young guys finish off the shutout. A true team effort in the shutout.

I agree Dayton is getting better. They still have a ways to go, but you can see the improvement. The offense looked very powerful and if Dayton can finish drives they can still win some games. As you stated they drove it all the way down to the 4 yard line and had 2 bobbled snaps that killed the drive. They have to tackle better. The players are in position to make plays just not making them. Keep your heads up Greendevils things will eventually turn the corner.

Devils74 Posted September 4, 2011 Posted September 4, 2011 Will Dayton be able to compete with Bracken County later on this month? Will the game be close? Hard to say. Bracken has won Dayton has not. I think it will be a good game.
