Ugly game with lots of penalties on both sides. Newport had 2 touchdowns called back from penalties, and another touchdown called back because of an inaverdent (sp.) whistle. Also dropped a long pass that would have been a touchdown. Both teams played really good defense though, and made it tough on their opponents offense. However Newport definitely had their chances, but just really hurt themselves with penalties that took away points.

I am somewhat surprised by the score. I thought Frankfort would win comfortably. Early season issues for both teams it sounds like. Congrats to Frankfort.

Frankfort started last night 4 freshmen on offense. And by the end of the game had a freshman playing QB. Who did a nice job of stepping up and finishing the game. This Panther team is young and very talented. Plus opening up a week early this year really has the offense behind. This team will have to continue to play great defense and until the offense can come together. I would say by district time this team may have it figured out.
