With a schedule like this they could lose 6 games, that will not be fun for Somerset Fans.

Wow tough schedule. somerset has good coaches and support. May not go undefeated but they will be fine.

It is a very tough schedule but there isn't anyone on there that Somerset can't compete with. The loss of 18 seniors will be tough but last year's team had to replace 16 seniors and did so pretty well. The good news is that with the lopsided scores last season the underclassmen got a lot of playing time that should help them this season. Somerset does return their leading rusher in Alex Lange who may move to quarterback and their leading receiver in 2 time all-state performer Storm Wilson. The defense returns a lot of contributors and should be the strength of the team--especially early in the season. Quarterback play will be key. If Lange is the quarterback will it affect his running ability? If Sophomore Tanner Gadberry wins the job will he be able to run the whole offense. Coach Lucas and his staff do an excellent job and will make sure the Briar Jumpers have every chance to succeed. This year's seniors might not have quite the raw talent as last seasons but they are a tough-minded bunch that plays well together. Should be a fun season.

No doubt in my mind Somerset will continue to be among the states best, personally, I think the tough schedule helps them much in the same way it helps Louisville Central. I anticipate the BJ's making another deep run in the playoffs.

My son has been gone to Governor's Scholars for the past 4 1/2 weeks so I have been out of the loop as far as practice. How has Somerset been looking so far in practice? Any suprises so far?

I say the Briar Jumpers go 6-4 or 7-3 and finish either first or second in their District.

It is scheduled for 6pm Saturday but there are middle school scrimmages and stuff beforehand.
