I have to confess I have never seen her play. WV did not play Holy Cross and they were never at any tournaments I have been at but hard to argue against Ginn for all around effectiveness.

 

Ginn is a very good player and for sure 1 of the top players in the area. IMO the best players I have seen have been Smith, Salzer and Moran along with Ginn. Smith is the best pitcher in the area and also does well hitting. Salzer is a lot like Ginn very good pitcher and all around player. Moran is the best offensive and defensive player in the area, had 9 homers in 68 ab's (most kids had over 100 ab's), if she played at a better school and pitched she would get more credit. Moran has over 10 D1 scholarship offers already. Ginn is probably the best gamer in the group, she does everything well. She is several years older than the other girls so that helps also.

I am not as close to the NKY fastpitch scene as I used to be. If there is a player in NKY with 10 D1 offers she is the best since Kirsten Allen.

Mostly mid majors....Radford, Ball State, Morehead, Ohio U, Middle TN along with others. Has some interest from several BCS schools but no offical offers from them yet. If she has another big summer it is possible she could end up at one of the BCS schools.

Holy Cross softball program is a mess to say the least. Holy Cross returned all but 2 starters from a team that came within an out of beating Ryle in the semi finals of the region last year. This season they had 2 quality starters that both got hurt and were out for the whole season. They did not have anyone that was anywhere near ready to pitch JV much less V.

 

Holy Cross only played about 20 games mostly against the top 10 teams in NKY minus WV and Grant. They also played Nicloas County, Fleming, and Pulazki County and South Oldham from outside NKY. They also had Beechwood, Holmes and ND which made up there very weak district.

 

Holy Cross was not competetive in most of the those games due to not having anything that even looked like a pitcher.

This young lady has the competitive drive and attitute that rivals most boys, I'd love to have a few of her on my team anyday of the week. Heck, for that matter I'd be happy with just one, I think kids like that drive the others to step-up their game.

It was a great weekend of softball. These young ladies can play the game really well. Congrats to the west all stars on a 4 game sweep of the east. Good luck to the ones who can get to play in the ky-tenn series. I already know there are several conflicts so good luck.
