Didn't it rain all day yesterday? How was this even played? Did they tarp the entire field? Lol

Honestly don't know but the field was dry and that includes the outfield.

CovCath's small ball beats Badin

HAMILTON - Covington Catholic baseball players work on bunting for at least one hour during each practice.

Colonels who are not in the hitting cage grab a partner and pair up and drill on the mechanics of bunting.

"We work on bunts a lot, working on that hand-eye coordination so we get it down," said CovCath leadoff hitter Brady Reese. "We probably work on bunting more than anybody.

On Tuesday, Badin discovered why CovCath makes bunting such a high priority, while falling victim to the Colonels' brand of small ball during a 4-1 loss at Alumni Field in Joyce Park.

The defeat, knocked Badin from the ranks of the unbeaten.

The first three batters for CovCath (8-1), ranked second in the Enquirer Northern Kentucky coaches' poll, put down bunts and three more Colonels drew walks during a three-run first inning. CovCath sent nine batters to the plate against Badin (7-1), ranked first in the Divisions II-IV area coaches' poll.

It didn't rain as much up that way. My younger son played at Waterworks Park in Fairfield and the field was in great shape..
