NKY Player of the Year 2011

We need to add Jake Lankheit to the POY discussion. He has to be approaching .600 from the plate. Smooth , consistent stroke plus playing better D behind the plate than I imagined.

No HRs as far as I know.

Beautiful, consistent stroke.

I don't know what's in that Maile blood but they produce some baseball players.

You all are missing the obvious choice for player of the year. It's Mother Nature!! No one has had a bigger affect on games this year or dominated so thoroughly. Unbelievable isn't it.

Totally agree, "Less Than Zero"! Getting into any kind of flow has been tough. Either it's raining or it's so cold a windy that everyone struggles to get loose and be consistent.

April showers bring MAY BASEBALL!! :)

Can't recall a recent March/April period this windy. There's been plenty of others that had ridiculous amounts of rain - such as this one - but I can't believe how windy it is almost every single day. It gets very tiring . . . .

I agree. The wind is much different than just cool weather.

Time to throw a new name in the ring - Tyler O'Bryan from Ryle. It'll be interesting to see his stats next time they get reported to the paper, but I'm going to guess he's well into the .500's after hitting 3 doubles today against Dixie. He has been very, very good at the plate the entire season and come up with one big hit after the next. He has also pitched very well in the opportunties he's gotten.

Again, however, it should be pointed out that none of his athletic abilities were handed down to him by his father. :D

Not a huge fan of BA but what impressive me are OBP and rbi's. HR's on the HS level are so overrated as some fields are so short (St. Mary BB and Boone Co come to mind) that HR's there are just pop up outs at a lot of other fields!

Pophams 3 homeruns were at SK(1) Highlands(2)

Sextons 5 homeruns were at Harrison County (1) Dixie(4)

Sorry SF99 I wasn't implying that Sexton and Pops HR's weren't legitimate, just that some HR numbers you read about can be explained by where they were hit at!

Oh yeah TOG I knew you weren't implying that I was just simply laying it out there.

Way would BA not be a big factor? I agree home runs may not be that important but I don't think Cov Cath field is a monster field as far as home runs go either.
