If that's where your vote goes then you have obviously seen Boone play a few games this year. How many games have you seen Ryle play? How many times have you seen Cain from NCC pitch? Some of these teams have only played about 10 out of 30 or 40 games and we are giving out votes for POY. And it has already been decided.

Lighten up, Walrus.

No one said anything about it being "decided." We can only go off of what we've seen so far.

Oh. I thought I read on here that it was already decided. My bad!

I'll throw out a name, Jake Rebholz, Campbell County

Batting avg. .649, # 1 in state and #27 in nation. Info from Max Preps for all

Slugging%...1.108, # 2 in state, #82 in nation

On Base %. .690, # 2 in state, #49 in nation

RBI..............15 tied for 7th in state

Hits ......24

doubles 10

Triples 2

Home runs 1

Stolen bases 10 tied for 4th in state

Runs scored.. 13, tied for 18th in state

Fielding........,1.000, tied for 1st in state

Most of these numbers have gone up including another home run and 3 -4 in hitting, as max Preps is a game or two behind.

Seems pretty good to me, and it's on Maxpreps. com for all to see.

Granted there are several teams that do not report to MaxPreps, even so, these are pretty impressive numbers.

Just read on Cincinnati.com that Rebholz in now batting .684 and has 4 triples, add in another home run. This will raise his slugging % as well.

Who is Gohs?

Right now Gohs is making his case with 6 Home Runs.

Cody is a good player without a doubt. What are his other numbers?

Plays for Beechwood.

Enjoy the big numbers for the HS hitters this season folks, next year it will be different! If you schools offensive records aren't broken this season, they will stand for a long, long time. The dumb down bats are coming......

I would think the sales of $400.00 bats are going to be broken as well. I don't really have a problem with cooling the bats down some. I think they may have gone a little to far though. Time will tell.

Not exactly sure. I know he has hit 6 homers and has a boatload of RBIs as well.

Not in favor of the new grading standard?

From everything I've read, it sounds like the new BBCOR certification will almost take bats down to wood bat level. If so, then I agree it's too far. But something needed to be done IMO. Composite bats just get too "hot" over time and you end up: 1) putting pitchers at too great a disadvantage and 2) seeing kids do things with the bat they really don't have the talent to do (balls hit off the handle laced in the gap, opposite field home runs, etc) and are only accomplishing because of the bats.

Next year will indeed be interesting. Shame for all those people that bought $300+ bats this year. Can't use them next year and can't re-sell them, since even most (all?) youth leagues are going to the same thing. Expensive batting practice bats . . . .
