Probably the worst game I've seen South play this year. Lucky to get the win. Go South!!

Collins played with South toe to toe. Wells only scores 4 points and the Lady Titans go 11-23 from the line. Lady Dragons go 11-14 in the second half. Closed the deal at the line. Collins held South to 40 points or less twice this season. Lowest point totals for South. Congrats to Coach Wright for surviving and advancing. That's what great teams do in the post season. Congrats also to Collins for taking a very tough team to the wire.

Only one senior moves on from these two teams combined. Both teams look strong for next season.

Was very impressed with Coach Condor. With Wells and combining for 14 points, the game should not have been close. Collins was a very resilient team tonight. Congrats to South on the win.

Congrats to Coach Wright and the Lady Dragons for enduring sitting on a bus in traffic for 3 hrs and still managing to hold of a fiesty Collins team.

How weird would that have been, to have to play after being cooped up of a bus for so long and then have to hurry up and play? Probably not too many teams could have pulled it off.

Congrats to both teams...Collins for erasing the memory of a 19 point loss (yes, although Collins held South to 40 points in the regular season, South still won by 19) during the season and playing aggressively. Kudos to Coach Conder and the Lady Titans for overcoming a season full of injuries that would have made Coach Pitino wince!

Congrats to the Lady Dragons for overcoming the eternity in the bus and still getting the win over a tough opponent. That is really more of an accomplishment than a lot of people realize...

Round 1 is all about surviving. As any veteran region observer will tell you, you can take little from the first round games in terms of telling how the team will play the rest of the tournament. In the semis, we typically see the teams completely settled into the tournament "mode."

South has now won a region-best 12 in a row and faces the last team that beat them - Walton-Verona - in the semis on Friday night. Walton-Verona won by 1 at home against South by wiping out a four point South lead in the final 15 seconds with the help of a somewhat controversial intentional foul call against South. This will be quite the war on Friday!!!!!!!!

The funny thing about the unique circumstances surrounding the South/Collins game. While South was stranded out on the interstate, Coach Conder and his staff had a great walk thru and shoot around for his girls (at least an hour). South is getting stiff sitting on a bus while the Lady Titans are lose, warm and getting extra prep time. All the more reason to give kudos to Coach Wright and the Lady Dragons.
