March 3, 201115 yr 1 - IMO, cheerleading is not a sport. MY wife (former Trinity cheerleader), gets angry with me for this. But my criteria is quite simple. If your "sport" is judged to determine a winner, it is not a sport, but an activity. No more, no less. 2 - they shouldn't have to buy a ticket. Just run the stadium for being stupid. Hey Rock so I am guessing those guys on the football field should not be considered a "judge"? I mean after all they do determine, or judge, if a lineman is holding or if a player scores a TD. But I am guessing that is different. It's people like you that give football players a sterotype. And as for the comment about running the stadium for being stupid, I would gladly compare GPA of any cheerleading squads against majority of football programs and see who has the higher GPA. And for the record anybody can run around a football field and hit somebody, but can you twist your body threw the air, can you do a 1/4 of what most collegiate cheerleaders? Just curious.
March 5, 201115 yr ^ 1 - Your first point is completely invalid. Games are won or lost based on actual scoring. 2 - I didn't state that all cheerleaders were stupid. So you can end the pity party, I said they should for being stupid. Meaning, doing stupid things. Lastly, when I was playing ball I could do a standing back, and stunt with my cheerleader girlfriend (now wife)......while cheerleaders are phenomenal athletes, the activity of it, is still not a sport.
