One of the highest, not sure if they are the highest.

Does it even matter if corporations don't pay any?

They do pay but it would matter even if they didn't pay. Obviously there are years when they won't pay income tax. Same as individuals.

Ultimately you and I pay their taxes anyway.

I don't understand how you have zero liability and pay your CEO MILLIONS in BONUSES, not salary, but BONUSES?

Sometimes, having zero liability would be a reason to pay your CEO millions in bonuses. Your tax accountant also.

Our corporate tax rate is second highest next to Japan... 24 US states have higher tax rates than top rank Japan... 32 states have a higher rate than no.3 Germany... All 50 states are higher than no.5 France...

And those are just receipts and income taxes. Capital gains really ought to be figured in there as well, since the stockholder equity fills out the left (or top) side of the ledger.

So I will ask again, what does it matter if your tax liability is zero?

It wouldn't if every company's liabiltiy every year was zero. Beyond that, it matters very much.

How many deductions did you take this year? I still believe that if you want higher taxes on anyone or anything and do anything at all to reduce your own tax burden you are a hypocrite.

You can have all of the purity tests you want, that is fine with me, and call me a hypocrite all you want, all I know is that I paid taxes, I didn't have a zero liability and I didn't pay my wife millions in bonuses. She is the COO of the house, and the CEO and CFO - she is pretty much THE CHIEF. But I digress. I wasn't saying, if you actually read my posts, that it was bad. My point was, just because the % says our tax rates are the highest doesn't mean that corporations pay more here. It is not a straight up tax. I believe the article even points out that some companies do have tax liabilities in other countries and don't here so it really doesn't matter that our rate is higher I think what matters is what you actually have to pay.

How much did you reduce your tax liability?

So, you agree with me. It doesn't matter what what the tax rate is. So it is intellectually dishonest to say that corporations in the US pay more in taxes than they do in other countries.

FWIW I paid more than that companies in the link. Significantly more.

No I don't agree with you because regardless of how you try to parse it your posting history is evidence that you feel corporations are if not evil then reprehensible.

I have no problem with anyone or any entity doing anything legal to reduce the amount of money our inefficient government gets from them, with one exception. I firmly believe that anyone who believes that any taxes should be raised on anyone that does anything to reduce their own tax liability is guilty of hypocrisy. If you did anything at all to decrease your tax liability then I would include you in that category.
