February 18, 201115 yr ESPN is saying the new owner will meet with Carmelo this weekend to discuss the trade. They also say Denver will take one of those 1st round picks along with Troy Murphy to make another trade. I like the trade for the Nets. Exposure gets attention from FAs and many will want to come and play in the NYC market IF they think they have good talent and a good owner.

The Nets would surrender their first-round pick for June's NBA Draft along with a pair of 2012 picks (a protected-to-18 pick received from the Lakers and a protected-to-seven pick from the Warriors), and a 2011 lottery-protected Rockets pick. Something like that.
February 18, 201115 yr If the Nets give up the players and 4 first round picks, they're idiots. Carmelo is good, no doubt about it, but giving up that much will just hurt the team in the long run. Yeah they've got Carmelo but no one else.

They won't have any good draft picks. It's not like there are a ton of awesome free agents knocking down their door next year.
