February 11, 201115 yr If you are talking about significance to MMA fans then I'd say you are right. But I would probably argue that in terms of significance to the UFC, a Brock fight probably did more for them than this fight will. This is a fight for people who are already big MMA fans. Brock on the other hand did a LOT more than this fight can for the UFC, because it "really" introduced MMA and more so the UFC to a large contigent of people who weren't otherwise fans. I don't know about that, many people, including UFC fans are heavily fascinated by Silva and GSP. If this goes down, I look for this to be the most profitable ppv card that's been on yet.
February 12, 201115 yr UFC 129 GSP vs Shields in Toronto sold out really fast, 55,000 tickets. Far and away the biggest crowd UFC has ever had for an event. Those crazy canucks love their MMA and GSP.

Those crazy canucks love their MMA and GSP. Yes they do. Found it very funny that in the GSP and Dana White press conference/interview in Toronto that all the fans boo'd all other sites Dana was naming that potentially could host a GSP/Silva fight. I mean its not like GSP doesn't get a home field advantage enough, seems like lately every time he fights its in Canada. No way should a GSP/Silva fight happen in Canada, or Brazil (in which I think the UFC is going back to later in the year). I'm seeing Cowboys Stadium as the destination, Dana also suggested maybe Staples Center. For some reason though I found a lot of humor in all the Canadians expecting the fight to take place in Canada.

I do believe that when this goes down that it will take a place like the Statples Center to hold it. I believe that it will sell out quickly even if it's in a place like that.
February 13, 201115 yr I'd like GSP/Silva, if it happens, to happen at Madison square garden. Dont see NY regulating mma in time to hold that fight. If they did though MSG would definintly be a top candidate. Jerry's World would be pretty cool as well.
