Heading to UK's spring practice today should be back on later with updates of how the team looked.

Just got back from UK's practice. The defense had 3 down line about every play. Guy and Simpson looked really good at LB. Guy was all over the field breaking up passes and in the back field. Simpson had the biggest hit a TE caught a pass over the middle and Simpson nailed him. Sanders will be the number one running back. There was only like 60 people there.

DT Laughlin was getting yelled at alot during the scrimmage he has ways to go. Patterson didn't to much in the scrimmage. Newton is clearly the starter at QB. Smith had some nice passes but held on to the ball to long.

Back from the USF spring game and sunburned as all get out. I look like a lobster.

USF 10 Bulls 7.

Defense looks great. Linebacker corps and corners are awesome. 2 force fumbles, 2 picks. Lots of 3 and outs. First and second string performed equally well.

Offense needs work. B.J. Daniels looked rough. Bobby Eveld got nailed on the first play of the scrimmage, by DE Ryan Giddens and was never right. However, true freshman early enrollee, Matt Floyd showed an amazing touch and pocket instincts of a much more experienced QB. He cold push Eveld for #2, and even B.J. for #1.

WRs A.J. Love and Lindsey Lamar did not dress and Sterling Griffin had the droppsies.

Demetrius Murray was as efficient as ever. Darnell Scott is going to be a great change of pace back, and Donte Aycock is a little bowling ball.

The offensive line gave up too many holding penalties.

#90 Henderson looked real good at outside LB.

I think Clay Cecil switched his number from 43 to 53 he did position drills but didn't get in the scrimmage at all.

Sanders and George looked real good at running back. Williams fumbled and Gainer got stuffed a lot. Roark, King, Fields and Brazley looked really good at WR.

I thought there would be more people talking about UK spring football than just me.

Didn't UK also have a walk on from Holmes...I think either a DB or WR...

Yea Palmer played DB but is no longer with the team. I thought #53 was Clay Cecil but I am starting to think it could have been the Dixie grad Wolfe. He was about 5'10 playing LB and Cecil is 6'0 and it was hard to tell because they switch numbers and no names on the back of their jersey but when I was leaving the practice Saturday I went into the restroom and Coach Turner for UK was in there I was asking him what they think of Simpson he said they are real high on him and said he has great technique. Coach Turner is an assistant coach on defense.

I think Simpson will be a stud safety...He still has 4 years to get better and it sounds like he is already turning heads...another thing is people really underestimate his speed...

He will be a starter soon as Guy is gone. They are not really a safety now. It all depends what the offense is doing. They are like a nickel back/outside linebacker I love this new defense they have a lot of blitzing kind of like SK's defense. Rick Minter is a pretty good coach he was yelling at the players all day long telling them WKU, LSU and some other teams are going to kick there butt making them hit extra harder. I can't wait till the season starts. Bailey didn't practice but number 6 Smith had a good practice.
