I'd throw Scott County into the discussion of serious contenders with Tates Creek and Lexington Catholic. One big hurdle for Scott, however, is the fact that they would likely have to beat both of Creek and Catholic since they are in the same district and hence, can't draw one another.

 

It's going to be tough for a district loser (which could well be Tates Creek or Lex Cath & Henry Clay or Scott Co.) to potentially end up playing Madison Central in the first round of the region. The draw will determine lots about how this region plays out IMO.

I think you're break down is right on target. My interpretation of your post is that the 11th is wide open, with no clearcut favorite. The 11th region tournament will be very competetive, and there will be some upsets.

I think he meant Scott County would have to beat both Lex. Cath. and Tates Creek in regional tournament since Lex. Cath. and Tates Creek can't be on the same side of the bracket since they come from the same district.

Scott Co will not win the region. They had the most unfortunate thing happen getting Bryan Station in the first round of the district. I assume BS just laid down yesterday. SC has trouble scoring from what I've watched and heard. I do agree it should be a great tournament and with the districts so heavily packed, upsets will happen way before EKU....should be fun to watch. Anyone know if any of the district games will be online?

Mason County has Henry Clay on their schedule later on, is it at the Fieldhouse or in Lexington?,schedule doesn't state.

Henry Clay's schedule which I found on iHigh.com says that the game is part of the Bumblebee Shootout played at Nicholas County. Maybe someone from Mason County can confirm.

I would say Tates Creek and Lexington Catholic are the top 2. I really like the way Henry Clay plays and never count out Scott County. Also, LCA is playing better along with Lafayette. Madison Central is young but improving everyday and could suprise a lot of teams in the 11th. Woodford has a good player in Johnson which will cause teams fits. The 41st is wide open Frankfort, Woodford, and Franklin County all have legit shot to win that district. It's all about the matchups in the first round in the 11th region. This year they are going out of region for officiating which should even things out for teams. Should be a great tournament.

I dont think they have a tough time scoring they are averaging in the 70's. They are having a tough time getting started. They come out in a daze at times. When people try to slow it down on them they are not a very good team in the half court. I really think Scott Co can win the region. They will have to step up their defense to win this region.

That was my point. Yes they are averaging in the 70's but are very average in the half court. Which is how I believe people with play them. I believe they shot the ball poorly vs. LCA. My district predictions: 41st-Woodford/Franklin. 42nd-Tates Creek/Catholic. 43rd-Scott/Henry Clay. 44th- Central/ Southern. I do think that the 44th is the only one that does a blind draw. If this were to play out, some nightmare matchups await. Should be fun.
