January 19, 201115 yr Two predictions I'll go on record making. One for this season, and one for the future. The Los Angeles Clippers will contend for the 8th and final playoff berth in the West THIS season. 2 years from now the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Los Angeles Clippers will be the best two teams in the West. They're both one solid player and a bit more experience away from being on the same level as the elite of the West IMO.
January 19, 201115 yr Author I like the Clip's young talent, but they're not a playoff team this year. I think they can be. They're only 6 games out at the halfway point. I'm not sold on Portland or Phoenix locking down the 8 seed anytime soon, so they have time. They've been playing as good of basketball as anyone the last 3-4 weeks, and it all stems from Baron Davis realizing that his role is now "veteran leader", not scorer. Griffin and Gordon are superstars in the making. Bledsoe, Jordan, and Aminu are all really talented guys that have the potential and opportunity to be big-time players in the league IMO. I think Kamen's injury has been a sort of blessing in disguise as it's allowed Jordan to log serious minutes and start to develop. Once he gets back, they should only continue to get better. Two years from now, you'll be hard pressed to find a starting five with as much athleticism and talent as Bledsoe, Gordon, Aminu, Griffin, and Jordan IMO.
January 19, 201115 yr I believe in LeBron's favorite word, "karma". The Clippers will have a brief stint of success, then it will fade off just as quickly as it started. Elton Brand, Shaun Livingston, et al. were supposed to elevate the Clippers. Heck, it got them as a 5 or 6 seed in the playoffs. Injuries and other factors took over and they returned to being the Clippers.

January 19, 201115 yr Karma? What have these Clippers done to deserve futility? They play for the Clippers Kind of like the Bengals. We all know it is cute when they sneak up and win the division, but poorly run organizations tend to be as such. Good gosh, they are owned by Donald Sterling. The Mike Brown of the NBA with more controversy. Heck, Blake Griffin is a stud, but he has durability issues and has already missed an entire season.
January 19, 201115 yr James is playing with some friends in South Beach so I can't knock the decision. I always thought though that he should have been a Clipper or Bull to win titles and not financially cripple the team from making other moves.
January 19, 201115 yr The Lakers will still be the best team in the West especially when they get Dwight Howard. OKC needs a big man or they will always be the team they currently are.

Odom and Artest will be in the same boat, Fisher will be gone, and Gasol will be dwindling.
January 19, 201115 yr Author Bookmark this thread for 2 years later. Not gonna happen. He's going to stay in Orlando.
January 19, 201115 yr Author He already wants out. I disagree, but either way, there's a couple other places he'd rather play than LA, one that especially sticks out if they're willing to open up the pocketbooks.
