This one was pretty much a war. Both teams played very hard and tough.

 

Walton won convincingly but Holy Cross had two top players injured and unable to play and a third one went down with a knee injury early in this constest.

It was a street fight and not a basketball game. Heck the boys team didn't want on the floor playing either one of these teams as they went right at each other and it wasn't pretty. If they counted personal fouls on the players they might not have been able to finish this game.

 

HC was without Beal who is out two more weeks another young lady who is out eight more weeks and lost another player to what seemed to be a knee injury.

 

WV has a some very good and strong players.

 

10 of HC and 21 of WV went after each other time after time and I truly was worried that punches just might be throw. Man they were in each other faces all evening long.

This scrimmage may have been a war but it was a war that Walton Verona won easily. The final score was 70 something to 29. Very lopsided and an easy win.

Holy Cross was at a disadvantage without their two best players. Beal didn't play and Julian suffered an injury early in the game. I hope that her injury is not serious. I believe the final was 74-29. Walton ability to sub 9 players wore Holy Cross down. Holy Cross looks to have a very good team this year if everybody is healthy. I really liked number 42 she was very physical on the low block.

Just remember I picked WV as the team to win the 8th some time ago. I was very impressed.

Agree!!! She will put up big numbers. Her shooting is a given but her ball handling will help Walton fill that weakness as well.
