November 8, 201015 yr CatsCatsCats I agree it would be nice if Florida played the U every year but also would have been bad on the U the last few years. One reason I feel they don't play every year is Florida plays in a real Football League in the SCE while Miami plays in inferior acc. Even the Kentucky Wildcats could compete in that league. GO GATORS.

One reason I feel they don't play every year is Florida plays in a real Football League in the SCE while Miami plays in inferior acc. Even the Kentucky Wildcats could compete in that league. GO GATORS. Florida refused to play them even on a once every 4 years basis. That is about as chicken as it gets. And it would have been bad on Florida for 20+ years, so I could take the last 5 or so. Miami cannot help what conference they play in. They are a small private school with basically no alumni compared to the SEC. No matter how good of a program they would have they would never be wanted by the SEC because they don't make the money. They couldn't even sell out each game for the 2001 team. They can't help that and they are lucky to be in the ACC.
November 9, 201015 yr I don't like the whole SEC vs. ACC argument at all...I also don't like the thought that Florida should feel like they need to play The U every year or even every once in awhile. Obviously whatever they've done has worked since they've won a couple of NC's and several SEC titles over the years. As bad as some of us may want it, the days of tough OOC schedules is over and there really isn't much of an upside to playing them.

Agree without a playoff in Division 1 football most teams will not play that strong of OOC schedule.

November 10, 201015 yr Most teams or just Florida and Texas? Most teams. There are some that do, but most don't. And sadly it works, Texas and Florida have what, 3 of the last 6 titles and Texas was in one more that they lost, right? I don't like it, but it is the nature of the beast.
